Haven't been a newbie for years now. I've been making a living with IM for some time. I should have stated this in my original post, maybe that's why Horny Devil is getting fiery!

Just want to bounce some ideas around so that everyone can learn!

Yeah, I already have my own ideas. I didn't use the search function because my intention was not to glean ideas off this thread, it was simply to promote a healthy exchange among a group of professionals.

I'm just going to post one reply to this thread and most likely never look at it again. But SailorRob was asking a question to get our brains thinking.

Whether it was to gleam ideas or not. The idea behind it was to get the community together to discuss how they'd make money in a different light. There was no need to turn it into a "bash the noob for making an unoriginal thread" thread.

Sometimes asking a question in a different context to cause us to "ask that question ourselves" helps our brain come up with more creative ideas.

@SailorRob - I have no idea what I'd do personally. If I had no list at all, I'd send out an email to all of my personal friends/family - a few facebook messages/posts and even make a blog post about my situation or a youtube video.

Had you read through this whole thread, you would have seen that others have already pointed this out. I think people should read the whole thread, to avoid making points that are redundant.

I don't want to get in the middle of all the arguments going on here, and I really regret even posting this thread in the first place. But in the interest of pursuing my original goal, a free exchange of ideas, I would like to respond to Daniel.

Well, I've done some marketing in the past that has netted me the thousand bucks that I was talking about, and one of my most successful short-lived campaigns was on Facebook, as I first mentioned. I found a weight loss product with a nice site that I thought would convert well, and directly linked it to a facebook ad that was well targeted. I tried 3 different ads before finding one that had a nice click through rate. Once I had a nice ad, the money started rolling in! The price point was $69, and 70% of that was paid to me as the affiliate.

Glad I could offer something, that was my original intention and I hope it helps. The product that I spoke about above was found on offervault!

At the start of this thread at least 8+ threads in a similar vein were on the front page. There are probably as many still there now. And it will be the same tomorrow, and the next day, and the next . . .

How many variations on 'make x amount within x number of days' do we need to see, EVERY day? Sure, if a novel version of it appeared - with a twist - then the thread has value and benefits everyone. But the same old tripe with the addition of a kidnapped cat . . . I mean, c'mon.

Folk have expressed their opinions within the thread, and judging by many other recent threads I've seen a growing number of members disenchanted that the boards are fast becoming a dumping ground for all sorts of garbage. Newbies can't learn if experienced, knowledgeable members get fed up of responding to the same rehashed threads all the time.

Many would say why not just give those threads a miss if they annoy you, but it's not the point. The point is that such a plethora of 'junk' threads every day means that interesting, topical, helpful, or any other threads of real value get pushed off the front page, and as such don't get the exposure that they deserve.

ALL new members should study all stickies and faq, and the search facility should be utilised for a week before allowing any new threads to be created by them. Heck, most of their questions would be answered and then they would enter the forum with at least some small degree of competence. Whether this could be implemented in one form or another is a matter not in my hands.

Let's just assume both of these scenarios:

• That the OP has used the search function and thereby knows there are multiple threads discussing similar situations with just slight variations, that he or she has carefully read through those similar threads and replies, that the OP isn't quite satisfied with the ideas there, and that the OP just wants to carry out what he or she intended to do, whatever that is, with this thread; and

• That the OP didn't use the search function and thereby doesn't know that there are multiple threads discussing similar situations with just slight variations, that he or she just wants to discuss something which involves an imaginary kidnapped cat, a target amount of money and a time frame restriction that will all affect the cat's welfare based on the actions of an Internet marketer who owns the cat, that the OP isn't quite satisfied with his own ideas and thereby wants to hear other ideas from other Internet marketers in this forum, and that the OP just wants to carry out what he or she intended to do, whatever that is, with this thread... Now, for those who see this thread as a waste of WarriorForum.Com space and member time:

One thread might be elaborated into a specific discussion about Facebook whilst the other might evolve into a specific discussion about Ebay and those two threads would stand prominently as belonging to those topics when they are archived and indexed thus standing as a source of "How to profit from Ebay" and "How to profit from Facebook" - both deviations from the original topic.
