Absolutely not. I rent a PO box for that purpose.

I think there's nothing wrong sharing your address to Aweber as the company has been for quite some time. I don't think they want to do something bad to your address.

I've had a P.O. Box ever since I started with Aweber. There's no need for people to know where I live.

If you don't even show the people that they can reach you, then why should they trust you or your business.

You can use a registered agent with a mail forwarding service and use the address they give you.

Why would you try to fake the system? If you point people to a no-where address how exactly did you want your business to be recognized online? How can you get a Google Places card by mail?
To be honest - the more honest you are with your business related aspects the more beneficial it becomes for you as a credited business.
And let's face it not many people really care where your located as long as you provide a service they need.

I can't believe that people are advocating giving out your home address in the interest of transparency! Are you guys nuts? There's a LOT of crazy people out there. What purpose would it serve to point them to your front door? That's just plain idiotic and potentially dangerous.

I use my UK address which is both my business address and my home address.

I never felt comfortable with putting my home address down I have a wife and kids and I don't want people to know where I live.. I just made an address up does anyone know if that is a bad thing? and if so why?

Yup vote for a business address. That said many years ago came across some marketer who used it as a way of bonding and creating trust with his list. Basically to kind of solidify that he was a real dude who existed in the real world

I would not put my home address on. Some do, but unlikely bad things sometimes happen, unfortunately.

We use our PO Box as well. TOS from AW doesn't say you have to use your home address, nor does the canned spam act.

I’m not in the US. Many of my clients are from the US, but also from many other countries. It’s really impressing to see from how many countries people come to my sites. I love this global communication online.

I don’t think that anyone would like to visit me here in Greece, but I give them my real address. On the other hand, I like to do everything in a legal way and follow the rules without hiding anything. I don’t like to hide myself.

Get a PO Box, but keep in mind anyone can find you if they want these days.

Other things you may want to keep in mind is zoning, not every home can claim to be an office.

I use a P.O. Box and that seems acceptable.

In the past I use to use my physical address everywhere,
until one day I noticed that Google Maps not only showed
where I lived, but if you clicked on the correct links, it
even showed a photo of my wife's car in the driveway.

That was sort of creepy, so I switched to using a P.O. Box.


I also have a friend who had a customer/fan show up at
her door unexpectedly. He just dropped by out of the blue,
with no bad intentions, but she thought it was sort of creepy,
so I recommend P.O. Boxes.

When I was first trained in email marketing, I WAS told that
using a physical address instilled greater confidence in potential
customers. I'm not sure if that is true any more, but I don't
worry about that since my name is already well-known after
being in the business for 16 years. So, I prefer a P.O. Box
since Aweber does append you address to every email sent.

Why on earth would you do that?

Simply using a P.O. Box is NOT hiding, and I can't really figure out why someone would think it is. It's simply an alternative way of receiving mail. Some people live far enough in the boonies (that's "country" to those that don't know) that a P.O. Box may be their only option.

The concern people may feel for their privacy is very real though. This concern undoubtedly rises in proportion to your "fame". Can you imagine what would happen if Frank Kern were to send out his home address with every email? You KNOW there would be at least a couple people that would drop by to try to ask questions, get him to promote for them, want to have his baby, etc...

Yes, if a snoopy person is determined, they can find out all kinds of things about us online, I prefer to not make their job any easier when possible. I have nothing to hide whatsoever, but I don't think the details of my private life (The car I drive, the assessed value of my home, etc) are anyone else's business at all.

And again, if you think a physical address instills greater confidence, use street adressing for your P.O. Box or get a box from UPS or something, most of those are addressed as "suite xyz" or something like that.

Personally, I use the address of a brick and mortar business owned and run by a close relative. I'm not trying to "hide" at all but your home is your home and you never know what kind of people are on your list that have easy access to that information.

Like all others, I make use of a paid P.O. box address for my Aweber account. You do not want someone stalking you or spamming you with snail mails, would you?

It depends on your list. If it is a personal audience that regularly interacts with you, than you can use your own address, but if it is mass traffic that you are getting, than I recommend a PO Box

I used to do that... and I did for many years, but after some baking, an angry customer, a troll phone call, and more, I decided to change my ways... and now use a PO Box..

It doesn't matter if your the KING of cool, handing out your home address like candy, could always have an adverse affect... (it may not) but worth the chance? Nope

I know most of you email to lists like 500 subscribers, 3k subscribers, maybe even 15k subscribers. I have had the opportunity to email out to hundreds of thousands of people per month. I have seen death threats and things like that get mailed in.

I've had my PO box for 6 years. Best investment ever.

I'm currently using my home address because I don't have a P.O.Box and I have to have something but I'll be investing in one in a few weeks and will change it after that.
