Trying to Import Posts

Hi,

I, trying to import posts from one domain to the other. The trouble is they all appear as published and I want them as drafts so I can release them one by one when the cache of the old site has disappeared.

Failing that, is there any way to convert them to draft staus without having to go through them 1 by 1?

Any help much appreciated.

You can use the 'Quick Edit' feature to change the published status of a page/post.

That way you don't have to change screens you can just edit them all from the same page.

Hi Will, there are nearly 400 posts so would take a long time. However you inspired me to take another look and I think I can do it using the bulk edit action, Then I can do 1 page at a time.

      So - thanks!

Just got to work out how to stop them all from pinging now!

Empty the box of websites to ping before you import them?

You can also change the number of posts that appear on one screen, so you don't to page through so many. Look for the 'Screen Options' box at the top right of the Posts list page and click it. It will drop down to reveal several options for displaying the post list (the Screen Options box is available on most WP admin screens, with different options available depending on the page you're on).

Thanks Steve, just started when I got your message. So that will save me heaps of time. Funny, I've been using WP for years and never knew you could do that!
      Many thanks
