A link goes a long way. Your adsense with 2500 a week should gain you more than that. First I would check your robot.txt make sure to cut down on the bots hitting your site. Second I would check your bounce rates. If your content is not relevant to you visitors it will be high. Then look at Googles Heatmap for positioning your ads.

Wide banners do better.

For a Photo and Quote type of website this traffic is too low. you need to work. You must get 10k traffic per day and you can achieve just keep working. apart from adsense you can use Luminate and CPM networks to maximize earning

I would recommended starting a list for this type of thing, and possibly begin marketing either affiliate products, or selling ad space for people like Nike or Underarmour (Smaller of course) as they are in the fitness niche.

Make sure many of your traffic is not coming from robots and continue to build more quality links and you will get quality traffic to your website.

You can setup an affiliate account that are related to motivational product/services, try amazon.

Try to change your ad placements and see if CTR and CPC improves. Sometimes just adding or changing positioning will give a much higher revenue.

I suggest you to start list building. Offer your visitor with a free product by putting an opt-in form on the website. As soon as they're subscribe to your list, start a good communication with them by giving valued information that related to their interest, then you can start sell some affiliate stuffs to them

I hate to say it but you picked a site topic that would be very hard to monetize. Think about it...people looking for inspirational quotes aren't necessarily looking to buy anything they're looking for FREE inspirational quotes.

And the reason why you did so bad with Adsense because there probably aren't very many advertisers (if ANY) spending money on this...don't even know if I could call it a market or niche...this subject I'll say...so no relevant ads were showing up on your site I would guess.

But even if there were relevant ads I'm certain your traffic wouldn't be clicking on it because they aren't interested in buying anything.

However, what you could try is like others have said is to build a list and find out what people on your list want...

If they're looking at fitness quotes maybe you could market fitness products...if they're looking at motivational quotes you could promote affirmation products or products about improving your mindset...maybe you could promote products about meditation or things similar to that...

Just think who your market is...these sound like people who want to be motivated, uplifted, to improve themselves both mentally and physically and they sound like they could be spiritual people so promote products along those lines or put CPA offers related to that sort of thing...but it's doubtful that Adsense or something similar to Adsense will make you very much money...

Or if you have some knowledge in this space yourself you could create some sort of report/home study course about your audience improving themselves or how they can be motivated and charge them for the report/course...

Just throwing out some thoughts and ideas but you should definitely try something other than Adsense and the like...

You picked a niche that is hard to monetize though...
