List Building Incomes

I have seen an income of $500 a day for having a list of 7,000 which was all generated from targeted traffic.
This unfortunatly was not me but was wondering if anyone has an idea of the kind of figures you can expect from building a list?

Average you can expect to earn for having a list of...

1000
2000
10000
20000
50000

I know it depends on the niche you are in and how you look after your list
etc, im just curious i guess

What is it with you and all your threads about these hypothetical "how much could you make if" questions?

What you're asking is like me asking you this:

How fast can those cars go?

Yeah right, what cars? Depends on the make of the car, the model of the car, what's under the hood, how well are the vehicles being maintained.

Same goes for your list question -- a quality list containing 1,000 contacts could EASILY out perform a poor quality list of 10,000 contacts!

Your question is not possible to answer because the amount of contacts on your list does NOT automatically equal a fixed dollar amount.

My 5,000 member contact list will NOT perform the same as your 5,000 person list.

To determine the performance of any list you've got to factor in WHO's on your list, what's the nice, are they motivated, consistent buyers, average refund rates, the quality (or lack of quality) products or services being offered, the price of what you're selling (if you're even selling anything - maybe the list is to simply get people to click ads on your site), etc.

Instead of worrying about hypotheticals, why don't you just build a large list and find out how much YOU will average?

There are definitely too many variables to give a straight answer like OP is looking for... You're right, he'd need to test and see.

Check this thread out "Value of 100k Subscribers? Real Readers...". It should help. But there are too many variables involved. One smart method of estimating how much you can make from a list is to find someone who is making the sort of money you want from a list in your niche of choice. Then see if you can figure out the system they are using to convert their targeted prospects into customers. If you duplicate their system in front of the same type of targeted prospects, then logically you have a chance of making the same kind of money. Of course it really helps to know the number of people on that list. Sometimes this is displayed on the opt in box itself. But... remember, it's all about the intricacies of the finest most minute details.

P.S I don't know if this is your ticket to fame and fortune but my internet went down like 5 times while i was trying to post this reply.

I totally agree with GMD you just need to start doing something and see what happens.

Don't get hung up about making mistakes, just learn not to make the same one twice.

Find a mentor / coach who can show you what can done in your chosen niche.

      Tim,

Andrew's post here makes sense. With list building, sometimes it helps to have somebody experienced by your side.

I've never done business with Andrew, however he's experienced with list building knows what he's doing.

There is money to be made with a list if you can build high converting, quality list members AND then be able to provide quality to them so that they come back again and again. Try working with Andrew and see what you could learn!

A quality list is like a garden that comes back season-after-season: if you take care of it, you can farm it again and again!

I know guys who earn 100k from a list of over 100k. I also know guys who earn 100k with a list of 10k. Now, how does that help you?

You could have a list of ten subscribers and make a million dollars a month - or you could have a list of a million and make ten dollars a month.

    Quality over quantity...

... People say $1 per subscriber per month - but, I don't buy it.

I've had list that pay less and lists that pay more.

There are way to many variables for you to get an answer to this question.

I would say that the $1 per subscriber per month rule is more accurate with buyers lists not freebie lists

1000 buyers should be making you around $1000 per month but there really are a lot of variables to consider

you could have 5000 buyers but if you treat them like crap then your conversions will be terrible

if you treat them well and send them a good balanced of promotions and good quality free info then your results should be a lot better

Too many variables. However, I want to say that I understand why you are asking. Sometimes fear of the unknown is what holds people back from achieving their greatest potential.

My advice would be, begin to build a list. Focus on getting traffic to your site so you can build that list. Then, treasure your list and learn to genuinely care about the content you provide for them. Then, regardless of how long it takes, you will succeed!
