ClickBank "hop" link not active?

Hi guys!
I where affiliating my own product on clickbank via blabla.com/?hop=ID. Product owner and affilator has the same contact information. BUT I did not pressed "promote" button in Affilator account.
The problem is I'm as a Vendor know that product was bought via Affilator link (hop) but, in Affiliator's account still no information about it. Also in Vendor account I see full sum of purchase.
It's been about 24h, and nothing refreshed so far.
So I wonder is it because I didn't pressed the promote button, and CB didn't activated something?

Could anyone comment this?

They COULD have bypassed clickbank and sent an intermediary link. It DOES speed things up. ALSO, last I knew, clickbank links could go stale, and they were claiming that stuffing them would not work. ALSO, there was a time when they only honored the FIRST referrer. They eventually changed it back, but still may have done it AGAIN.

They did all the above to prevent the black hat tricks that are making THEIR service less meaningful.

Clickbank at least USED to have a person that had an account here. Maybe they still do, and he will chime in.

Do you mean you added ?hop=yourid to the site URL ?

That won't work as an affiliate link

Sometimes it takes time to update your statistics, but I will suggest you contact CB for help, they are in the best position to tell you the proper way to generate an affiliate link.

It's nothing to do with waiting for stats to be updated.

You have made a vendor sale not an affiliate sale.

      No.

Harvey's right. Of course, HE seems to be in this far more than I am. Clickbank leads a person through a LOT of links. Last I knew, it.....(According to my old memory, but all is subject to change anyway)

      1. Registered it with clickbank. That helps the simpler sites generate the link I spoke of that can become STALE!
      2. Looped back to clickbank, to register the affiliate. This at least WAS important, because if they get there too late, or never get there before the sale, there is NO record of the affiliate!
      3. Went to the suppliers site, and provides the link to the merchant ONLY so THEY know you came from clickbank, and who you are.
      4. The supplier calls clickbank to have you pay. THIS pays the affiliate IF, and ONLY if a valid link with this affiliate for this supplier went to #2 FIRST!
      5. Clickbank goes to the supplier area to get the purchased stuff.

So HARVEY thinks, and it is possible, that they went STRAIGHT to step #3! Outside of clickbanks records, you probably wouldn't have a clue if that happened. ACTUALLY, check your server logs! If it happened, the server logs will likely show someone besides the clickbank sites sent them there. It will likely be null, or show the referrers site. That will NOT happen with a proper clickbank link.

It is ALSO possible that a stale or invalid link went to #2. If it isn't 100% valid, it doesn't count.

Well Steve I understood that bit but the rest went over my head.

And I've no idea what you mean by a stale link.

All I am saying is that the OP is probably not using a proper affiliate link.

Yeah, I said the same thing about them using the wrong link. That is what I meant by "They COULD have bypassed clickbank and sent an intermediary link. It DOES speed things up.". By stale link, I mean that a while ago, they added TIMED links! Admittedly this was YEARS ago, so maybe they changed it back...

Anyway, the link had a parameter indicating a time, and use outside of a certain window was ignored.

If you remember this was in response to those stuffers that came out years ago where they stuffed clickbank with the referrers link even though nobody actually went to the site so the affiliate might get the credit later even if the person never had a chance to click on, or even noticed, the link. As for the rest, I meant:

          1. The simple direct method.
          2. The method you could use to help hide the link, but only for a certain time, where it started tracking the affiliate.
          3. The persons site. <<< Where think you think they started
          4. The clickbank purchase pages, where the affiliate may be credited, IF recognized in #2. <<< payment made
          5. The persons download site. <<< Where the purchaser gets the product(s)

          Hopefully that is clearer.
