Semi Newb Information Overload Question!!

First and foremost I would like to say Hello to everyone in this forum! I have been a visitor to the site for months before I decided to actually join. Im currently in my 3rd year in college for Business Management(everything is online). I type about 50wpm, very fluent with Microsoft Office, Ebay Selling(home items), daily Craigslist posting(for my current cleaning business) so I guess you can say im kinda computer savy.

Currently I run my own insured/bonded cleaning business for my main income and its growing extremely well and I am turning more to having workers work for me so I have more free time. I first started my internet marketing back when I was 15 from doing surveys on cashcrate and telling friends to get referrals..etc also at 16 I was doing some ebay listings for a local clothing store. (I am 21 now). I have had part time jobs working 45hours a week so I am no slouch.

I am a War Room Member and devote at least 2 hours a day to that section to read the free info and also I browse alot but I am having a hard time choosing exactly what to do and where to start. I know there's tons of these newb post everyday that basically ask the same thing but I promise I actually spend the time reading! From what I see it is best to start with something and stick to it until your first profits and rinse and repeat..... I consistently can invest a good chunk of money weekly so thats not really too much of a issue but there is so much information on here its really hard to focus.

Im thinking about going the amazon and clickbank route to make commission from my website by getting hostagator/godaddy for wordpess and buy a premium theme, from there I would buy traffic/articles/keywords and possibly backlinks?

Or website flipping(haven't really looked much into it)

Or offline SEO, I am a small business owner and just from having a website site for my cleaning business I see how that can improve other small business owners in my area. The only thing is I have no clue about that yet other than outsourcing on oDesk to build a portfolio from someone there.

Or app making

Or joint venture

I am very intelligent and also very ambitions to learn anything new which makes me stay on this site daily for 5hours just reading. I know I need to still read tons but was just looking for some advice! Sorry for the long post

    You definitely have the entrepreneurial spirit, that's step 0. I say step 0 because it's not absolutely necessary, but damnit it sure helps.

    Since you have something else going on, I'd say dip your toes in everything that interests you and try them out. Build some affiliate sites, then you can try selling them and seeing how you like the flipping game. Joint ventures can be GREAT, as well - they have without a doubt been some of my most profitable ventures.

    Take some of that reading time, and turn it into "doing" time and just try stuff out ...

    Personally the advice I would give you is to pick something that you are passionate or at least have an interest in.Whatever anyone may tell you if you pick a niche purely and simply because you think it is huge and the try and post about it with no knowledge or grit your teeth and post daily even though you hate it it will become old very very quickly.On the other hand if you are passionate or knowledgable about something then it becomes easy and dare I say it fun.

    I am not afraid to admit that I did it the wrong way about a game launc , (I detest gaming lol ) and I may as well have been writing in Greek as I didn't know the subject , it bored me stiff and it didn't convert because I am guessing that it was obvious to any true fan that I didn't have a clue.

    Perhaps you could write about cleaning devices like steamers or hovers etc that you are already knowledgable about , although you may have enough of cleaning during your day job to want to write about it in the evening

      Thank you Peter that is a good idea about the cleaning devices because I definitely went through some pain and struggles figuring out what methods and supplies work out best and there has to be some people out there that would love to save the time of trail and error. I don't mind working when im off so thats not a problem. How would I go about making money from this? Im not sure if thats when E-books come into play?



      Looks like picking something that interest me would be perfect right now instead of just shooting for something that shows immediate $$ signs. I know a little bit of everything just from growing up by myself since 15 and that's everything from building race cars to losing 80lbs in one year to get rid of my diabetes(from research the weigh loss niche is saturated). Also I am sort of a mentor around campus for alot of different people that come to me for advice about anything they want to talk about and the advice always helps more than the normal advice so I guess I can take a dive at this.

    Well, being "very intelligent" has nothing to do with success Personally I would steer clear of the Amazon route since you have money to invest into your business. The Amazon route is slow, tedious and the commissions are awful. This is where a lot of people start out when they have nothing to invest, but time. Plus, it's definitely not the best way to set up a real online business.

    I'm sure you've heard a lot about list building on this forum. So, that's where you should start. Because you have money to invest every week into your business, you can build a list through paid advertising very quickly.

    Building websites to rank in Google for keywords is a waste of anyone's time if they have money to invest in paid traffic. Pick a topic you are passionate about (as stated above) create a report that will be valuable to the audience you will be targeting. Set up a squeeze page with the free report and an opt-in form to capture email addresses. Drive traffic to that page, build a list, promote content related to the niche, provide ongoing value and make some cash. Take what you learned (what's working best) scale it up and keep moving forward.

    Soon enough you will be able to replicate this strategy into any niche you want to. If there's a niche within the "cleaning" industry that you can sell stuff... go do that. Build an authority website for relationship building and scale it up.

    Of course, you could implement seo into this plan if you so wish, but make sure your focus is on building lists. That's the most important thing to remember.
