16 month site only getting 20-40 views a day.

I have a website (pctabletpc.co.uk) that is about 16 months old. Built entirely myself from the ground up with 100% original content.

At the moment I am only getting around 20-40 visitors a day mainly from the odd google/bing result. These are scattered over various longtail keywords and never ever consistant. Previous high has been around 60-80 views a day but sadly this did not last long.

I need help. I have no idea what is going wrong and am at my wits end.
I spend most of my free time creating backlinks / adding new content. I have social profiles on all major sites that I regularly update/participate in.

As far as my site goes, what do I need to change/add?
How would you recommend promoting the site?

I understand that I'm in a very tough niche with great competitors so should not expect an easy ride.... But at the same time I feel what I offer is well thought out and offers value to visitors. Something Google says is vital.

Do I just backlink, backlink, backlink?

Appreciate any help. Thanks.

      Hey JaRyCu.

Those 3 links are my testing grounds. I've put the content up when testing a new template and have since taken that content down. Very rare i do that and surprised its been indexed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I see a title and description in your source file, but not any keywords. Make sure your keywords are on each page, and also make sure those keywords are being searched by using Google keyword tool.

Once you do that hire someone on fiverr that will anchor link you on one of their page rank 6 or higher websites. Then see if you notice a change for the better.

You should check and make sure your content is original and you should improve your traffic source. What methods are you using to drive traffic?

All content is original. I wrote every page myself and from what i can see nobody else is using it.

I have a facebook group, twitter page, Google+ page, pinterest page and a couple of youtube videos to cover social side of things...

I backlink on forums/blogs and have posted various articles to ezine/squidoo at a steady pace.

I have recently taken down the meta keyword tag. Everywhere I've read suggested google/bing no longer look at this tag (and it gives my competition easy access to my keywords). The keywords i have chosen are defiantly do-able ranking wise.

    Suggestions:

    1. Make sure your pages are optimized for the exact model + review, + comparison, + best, etc... so they have a shot at ranking against the highest commercially viable keywords possible.

    2. I prefer to start sites like this with 5-10 models and focus on getting backlinks to those pages first, then building out rather than trying to boil the ocean all at once

    3. Become involved and post to electronics related forums, respond to blog posts and get your backlinks in mixing up the anchor text wherever you can.

    4. Create a Youtube video or two against these and backlink the description to the relevant page

5 I would also consider starting an tablet blog on another domain where you share daily tips, observations, news, updates, and link back to relevant reviews - your blog posts you can bookmark on social networks and get some good traffic rolling which will then funnel back to your relevant landing pages.

    Hope that helps,

    Jeff

Keyword research is your issue. when posting an article, aim for a title with a keyword that is actually searched monthly, and focus on that keyword in the article (not too much).. but basic understanding of what people are searching and your posts.

    Good luck.

Contents are king. If you are sure that your contents are really good then start submitting articles in the high PR article directories and regularly participate in the forums. These will give you tons of back links and also a good amount of traffic. I have seen that you have below 500 Face book members. So try to increase the number of fans. you can use manual fiverr gigs for doing this. These are the best ways to increase the number of traffic.
BTW: Monetize your ads please. I have seen that your ads are not related to your niche. So try to monetize your ads. other wise your your main target to income $ will not be fulfilled.

Agree with the point on keyword research. In such high competition niches, it is important to find and target keywords with less competition and reasonable traffic. variations of main keywords like 'keyword country, 'keyword month date' etc should be looked into.

Yea the G+ likes are slightly confusing. I have managed to amass 1.2k real G+ members for the group. Sometimes that button switches between page +1's and the G+ group 1.2k. Very confusing. Seems to do what it likes lol.

I appreciate your guys feedback. I have spent many hours on this site with design and content and it pains me to see it fail.

Will take a look at my keyword research. Any tools that you guys can recommended apart from google keyword tool and micro niche finder?

      Many thanks.

Well, what have you been doing for the last 16 months??

Really, I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this site. It is designed very well!

However, the quality of content may be lacking a bit. You you write articles daily for this site? Fresh, original, quality content will undoubtedly drive traffic- if you target the right keywords.

    And yes, Backlink, backlink, backlink.

Also-- work the social channels. Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter. More traffic begets more backlinks.

The only real way to grow your site is to have somebody talking about it somewhere.

Looks really nice as I said!
I'd recomend some partners... Let me explain, you have a useful website, why not share with others? I use a costum table in the right or left side, with recomended websites. You might actually do the same, with very well known websites in UK. The same goes for stores and markets. You have to bet on the crises too. Stores want to sell and you have the news and reviews of the products. It's great for both.

I think your site looks really good. I also think that 1,000's of warriors will have sites like this that look great but have very few visitors.
I am coming to the conclusion that luck plays a large part in the success or failure of review sites.

The formulas promoted by affiliate experts do not work. But just occasionally you will strike it lucky with a url/keyword/product combination that will make you money.

I actually bought the Samsung Note 2 months ago and was considering your site in the light of being a buyer. I think I would have quickly moved on to another site. But I can't decide why.

      Sorry, not much help.

Since my redesign about 6 months ago conversions have dropped massively. Previously i had a website that was very limited (chose a theme that was hard to edit) and poor in placement (nav bar wrong place etc).

With the new design i wrote the code from scratch and to be honest very happy with how it came together. Just that problem of people converting.

I need people to think that they can trust the site enough to click that buy now button but not sure how i go about that. I believe i have quality content and that the site looks pretty good. Affiliate links are in prime positions for review pages (pctabletpc.co.uk/google-nexus-7-review.html) in top right and bottom of post.

So - if your site is 16 months old and you spend most of your free time promoting it and adding content........

That means you must have over 1000 pages of content (assuming you only write 2 posts a day with all that time).

If you don't then maybe you're just kidding yourself about how much you've done and you just don't have enough content yet to be getting high traffic levels.

If you do then it's just down to the way you write them and how you factor in keywords.

Alternatively you've been using spammy linking and got your site penalised.

What i actually said was "I spend most of my free time creating backlinks / adding new content."

I never said i sit writing content all day. I have a full time job as well so my free time is not 24 hours a day like some people.

Ta for the link coolidge effect.

Well as most people say build back links. If you go on fiverr there are people who will build link wheels, that could help if you're not having sucess yourself. Join credit safelists where members get emails with your links. Members get these emails and click on the link and see your page to get views for thier pages.
