I would tell myself to stop buying Ebooks and just focus on learning and making money off one technique instead of trying every single one! No focus = No Money! LOL

i will read less ebook and trial more, see what method that really work and develop a lot website with that method

I might ask just the opposite It is hard to make profits with paid traffic, for most sites, by simple 10 clicks - 1 conversion formula. If you are expecting the customers to make an initial subscriber base from where you can grow organically at some point of time, fine. Otherwise, free traffic - search engines or whatever - is the key to success. I would strongly advice spending eqaual efforts in SEO and never using any black hat techniques.

Work hard.Play hard.

From day one, I would have had a better compilation of leads our business gathered and actually forced myself to contact all of them. I have a bit of a fear of cold calling, but I guess if I had forced myself to do it from the beginning then maybe by now I would have gotten over it.

Get good at one system and keep taking action on it, move forward one step at a time. Stay as far away from the white and shiny object,build your list...in a nutshell.

To never give up on websites I did in the past! I look at them, I see potencial I haven't dealt with!

Don't give up the day job

(Bricks and mortar business) Make sure you keep telling your staff to ask walk in customers if they want to join your free hints and tips email mailing list.

Make sure you hire the right people, don't rely on someone's "I can do that, I'm an expert" comments to fool you, make them prove it.

Don't hire the 12 people you hired over a 7 year period, because only one of them can actually do what they say they can do... see note above because getting rid of dead wood employees in the UK is a nightmare

Communities drive the web. Without them, it's just one big strip-mall with infinite parking.

Every website is a business. Have a clear plan for your site- the same way you would plan a business.

I would tell myself to pick an area (websites/lists etc) focus on it find out as much information, spend 2 days reading on here about it; then do it! My biggest problem initially was hopping around at lots of different things without even starting anything.

Get a focus and get going. IMHO

Start building a list on day one, rather than 6 weeks later, having earned almost nothing.

it takes time,patience and alot of trial and error.

Work on passive income sites from day one and build lists with them. Invest in Apple before the huge uptick.

If you start a site or blog, regularly update it. Don't forget about it, even for a week or two. You will lose readers and have to start over.

Stop chasing shiny things and opportunities, and instead build a business.

hi! this is my first post; i recently jumped in internet marketing and have my squeeze page up so i don't quite have as much experience as most people.

nevertheless, the advice i have is definitely to just do it - man up and stop doubting yourself by talking yourself out of it! it's a problem i had for myself (and i still do from time to time) with advertising.

"Work Smarter, Not Harder."

Replace the "succeeding or failing" framework that is easy to fall into with a "testing" framework and approach any task I do in that overall context.

Focus and see things through! Stick to something like crazy glue and don't let go.

I would love to learn about IM as much as I know now. Till now, could be an IM Guru. :p

Stop over-thinking stuff & just DO something!

You are going to make mistakes anyway, and the best way to learn something is by doing it, not by reading about doing it.

I mean, you could read every book out there on "how to build an airplane" - but that doesn't mean you'll be able to go build one after you finish.

You can always make changes later as needed

So get it out there, get REAL feedback & suggestions & then improve.

When i start my journey in this vast but extremely lucrative place i just concentrate on quality and fresh content. Because if you put fresh content then it would be easier for your site to get more and more traffic within very short period of time.

Choose a monetization method that suits your knowledge and skills, then stick with it.

I would tell myself to find a legitimate website to earn from online. Like, getting paid to write articles for instance, then save the money I made to take a training course that I was interested in. And never ever buy anything with credit cards that you cannot pay back in full!
You think IM scams are just online? Nope. I was scammed big time when a company came to my home town and I bought into the stupid program where they did not help me as they promised. Here's some great advice. Anyone coming to your home town to sell you on some great way to make money from home and they offer you free stuff, and food, beware and run away! Well, maybe you can eat their food, but then, just leave.

Stop using cookie-cutter affiliate sites, and learn how to create and sell your own products.

Stop trying to game google with crappy little sites!

When starting out, most noobs tend to be very scattered. I mean: so many incredible strategies. Its just too overwhelming.

So...

Decide early who you are and how you want to approach the business...and then, really do it...and stoip looking for more approaches. YOU MUST, organize your business just like you would in "corporate" business worlds. By this I mean, set goals and write them down. Every week write down: what do I want to accomplish this week? Every day: make a "to do" list. Work that list. Hey, working alone everyday is tough...and it is so easy to vere off task. Maybe you need to create an image in your mind of an old boss...and contiunually measure your performance/actions as if he/she were in the room. Guess I'm just saying...be professional.

There is way too much competition to try to be a jack of all trades.

Real money is to be made here, but you need a deliberate approach. It is still early in the game. Heck, there are only about a million people on the warrior forum...its not like its a billion or anything like that

(Of course a trillion is the new billion)

Now click off this site...and do it!

If I wen't back in time to when I started about 6 years ago.

Put a series of bets on with the bookies that:

> You would be able to watch movies and sport in 3D on a TV
> You could talk to each other face to face on a mobile/cell phone
> etc. etc.

As for advice: Don't do what I did to get my Adsense account disabled. Figure out what I want to do and get focused. Outsource more. Perhaps even find a mentor.

Just be paitent and work hard

Dont Assume things or be afraid of doing anything. Don't hold yourself back. Take actions. Taking actions count for 90% of your success online and anywhere.

TAKE ACTION! that is the most important part if you want to succeed not just in IM, but in all other fields. Also focus and do not give up easily.

So far I've learned two things:

1. Affiliate Marketing is a very viable way to replace your income no matter what anyone says.

2. MLM are very hard to grow right now due to the saturation of competition on sites like CL, even if you have a list.

Hope this helps some people (I make all of my money with affiliate mktg)

1) That i should totally focus only on one project at a time.
2) Think twice before buying ebooks / courses / services etc
3) Make it a habit to learn something from internet each day - health, fitness, marketing etc

I would tell myself to find a good coaching that will help me focus and make money much faster.

I always said.. and still say...

You don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going.

1 Focus on one thing at a time. (can't be emphasized enough)
2. Find out what the mainstream methods are in your industry and follow them. We have all seen the latest fad in IM come and go, but some things are still here. Choose those and just focus on the changes within that group. Black hat tactics may get you results in the moment, but not the long term. Learn the difference early and you will save yourself a lot of work.

Don't wake up until you feel ready and when you are ready...don't fall a sleep until you succeed.

If I could turn back the time, I'd have started blogging right from the year 2006...and not 2010..But it's never too late to begin.

You need application, not just loads of information.

I won't waste my time buying ebooks that are worth 7-40usd especially when they claim you can be a millionaire just by reading it and implementing the few easy steps. It's just pure bull****.

Absolutely start building your email list now. It is Google proof. Then specialize in your traffic source.

Find one strategy and stick with it till you "get it"

For me, I would tell myself to focus on building a list and building RELATIONSHIPS with my market as WELL as building authority and expertise, and always remember that I'm building a BUSINESS.

Never stop till goal to your target

Find and promote awesome offers. I've promoted tons of stuff, but only ever make real money with a handful of the offers I promote.

Dump the losers and focus on the stuff that sells (and generates big commissions).

Using lists to promote is good ... but I think that point has been made.

Oh yeah, respond to emails from subscribers. I'm becoming very interactive with subscribers and offer tons of info privately. This makes for great blog posts, but more importantly develops excellent relationships. They buy everything I recommend (I'm sincere with my recommendation). It also leads to high-paid consulting gigs.

If you help 5 people personally every week, in one year you'll have 250 raving fans who are telling other people about you.

Unfortunately mine sounds much less poetic than many of the others you've gotten, and it isn't even a standard forum reply

I recently wrote myself a book, yes for me, just so that before I ever write copy I can be reminded of the principles I've learned. (I'm not promoting it, I'm not even selling it anywhere)

1). The general public will not make logical jumps in sales copy. Whether doing something will lead to them making money is beside the point. Unless you show them EXACTLY how they get the money they won't see it and they won't get excited any buy the product.

2). Humans have two motivational forces: Security and sex. If you aren't appealing to one of these basic motivators you may as well print out your sales-copy and use it as toilet paper.

Had I known this from the start my early life would have been far better. Even now I forget unless I remind myself.

I would had the subscriber option available on all my blogs. and would have worked hard on social networks from 2005

Not to care about what you see around you at the moment. Rather, focus on the future and where you want to go. Then go about finding ways to create that.

If I could go back in time and give myself advice... buy Apple and Google stock and forget about the internet! :-)

- Forget about building a content site on your own, you need a team and a lot of cash.
- Software as a Service (SaaS) is totally the way to go.
- Dig up good PPC => CPA combinations and stick to it.

I want to believe that the money is in the list, I'm sure it is, but sometimes I question that... but if the list is big enough, I'm sure it's sound advice.

Build a list from day 1 and work on your business everyday! Push-button-profits do not exist...

FOCUS! Too much distraction to chase dollars every which way. Pick something, stick with it until it produces, then rinse and repeat. (Jumping from money-making idea to another and another simply leads to frustration, furstration and more frustration!)

Do the work even when you're seeing no results. This game takes time. It's something that I still need to constantly remind myself.

I would tell myself that Internet Marketing is a real business and not an overnight get rich scheme and go and find yourself a coach or mentor

Stop and breathe, realize there's plenty of money to be made. Focus, and work one system and then replicate; scale. Build that list from day one with genuine relationship building. I would be way further ahead if I had known this when I first got into IM. Although, I'm happy with my current place, too.

DON`T BUY EMD!

Do better keyword research before you develop the site, so half way through, you dont end up realizing he keywords you hose are either dead (not much monthly searches) or are as competitive as they can be.

Having said that, I dont actually regret anything I have done, because to be honest, I have learned a lot of things with trial and error that otherwise I dont think I could have ever learned.

I'd tell myself to do this with multiple sites, and to remind myself every day to have patience and stick with it. I've lost count of how often time has proven to be the only thing that separates the successful sites from the not-yet-successful one's.

Having a successfull and long lasting business online is not an instant process. It takes time and dedication. Anyone who says otherwise is smoke and mirrors. The guys here and at Wealthy Affiliate (link in my profile) will all tell you that.

Focus on one method at a time. Don't give up easily and switch to the new shiny thing to come down the pike. I have multiple income streams but I didn't find success until I learned to focus on one thing at a time. Now, when I try something new I work at it until I succeed. It takes patience but it pays off in the long run
