Hey Good People,

Just wanted to entice you to open this thread...lol. The truth is I've been away from the WF for months and decided after enough time, it was time to come back and contribute, learn, and learn some more. I truly think WF ranks up there as one of the greatest and most significant sites ever created. Now, in the same fashion before my hiatus, I will pose a simple question only the brilliant minds in the WF can tackle.

QUESTION:

Why is it that most people getting started in IM feel that they must spend thousands on courses, and material. Yet, shun from extremely lower priced training materials that pack more of a punch? WHY?????

Peace & Tranquility!

    Howdy

I was hoping it was me you were talking about being back. Guess I'm still lost!

Well I'm to much of a tightwad to spend the big bucks on things. I have found free or inexpensive sources to be OK for what I have been trying to do to this point. The key, as has been said many times before is actually doing something with the information no matter what it costs.

    Just another

Maybe they think more expensive means better quality, and better quality means more chance of success? Or perhaps the more expensive products have more persuasive salesletters, or promoted much more heavily and therefore found more easily by a newcomer who doesn't know to compare products?

And why is it that half the time they wish they hadn't bought it once they see what it is?

One of the lessons I've learned online is that nothing can compare to experience, making my own mistakes and learning from them.

I've bought A LOT of courses, books, systems, etc. and some of them taught me something, but most didn't.

    Experience is the key.

First, do you really expect "brilliant minds" will take, as fact, the unverified statement that "most people getting started in IM" would behave as you state? From where do you get your stats, or how about just a little evidence? In my experience, many newbies don't have two nickels to rub together which accounts for the litany of "... on a shoestring budget" type sales letters that once dotted the IM landscape.

Second, why do you need brilliant minds to state the obvious. In general, people who pay more feel the right to expect more. That isn't limited to newcomers... that seems to apply to everyone across the board.

If you want brilliant minds to help you figure stuff out, try to bring the "ringmaster" act down a notch and find a question about which you really care to know a much deeper answer. Until then, I'll remind you of what I just said... "you get what you pay for" and if you're insincere, or presumptuous, you get maybe a handful of Twitter followers from your signature file, but not much more.

    Best wishes,
    Eric

For starters, there is no ringmaster act(as you call it) going on.

Secondly, any and every person here is brilliant in there own right, and posing the question in the manner I did is based on being in the IM game for over 6 years. In addition to my "experience" bro, and attending countless seminars to watch totally brand new people run to the lobby or back of the room and spend like crazy is proof enough for me. So, with any bit of dislike you have for the question(s) I ask...Don't reply, simple. I'm sure there are many people who've spent money on things because they feel it's what they should do who just may read this thread and get information that can spare them the expense...Is that brilliant, yet "simple" enough for you. Thanks boss...Ciao!

      lol.

It's probably because most people lack the drive and skills to know WHERE to start. They are not really buying a course to learn anything but more for the hope that it brings them...the feeling of having done something to improve their lives.

This is people claim that some courses DONT work...it is likely not the course failing but them to take any concerted action.

I haven't spent big bucks on any course or ebook or report or anything like that.

I did spend big bucks on a piece of crap software and a scam which I was too new and naive to know it was a scam

Last year I attended a $3000 seminar where I learned
several IM strategies - what to do. This forum,
plus two fantastic $49 ebooks, taught me how.

Oh, and a monthly member ship class that costs
about $12 a month has been priceless as well.

I'm not knocking the seminar - I came away with some
great ideas. But not knowing how to put the ideas into
action has held me back for a year. Now that I have a
focused planned, I'm seeing some positive results.
