is 5 seconds enough time to...
The reason I ask is, Google is about to implement the "5 second rule" to Gmail.
This will allow you up to five seconds to stop an email from being sent. In case you realize you made an error or worse.
I remember back in my eBay days when I accidentally hit reply instead of forward to forward a customers 'dumb question' to my brother with a little condescending note added to it for a laugh.
Immediately after it went, I had realized what I had done and had that terrible sinking feeling in the bottom of my stomach.
Hoping that the email would somehow not end up in the inbox of my customer, off to bed I went.
When I woke up the next morning...
there was a reply from the customer.
Terrified, I opened the email fearing the worse and what I got was a short reply something like, "Scot, I have never been treated so badly by an eBay seller, you will not be getting any more of my business"
The email itself was simply a forward of their original email reply to me with the silly question, but the subject that I intended to go to my brother was:
re: check out this rock!
Would the extra five seconds have saved me back then?
Probably my bro and I have a good laugh about that every time we get together now though
Anyhow, here's the story on the new "5 second rule":

I hope it saves someone the embarrassment.
