How much money do you want to make online?

What are your goals?

Do you want to make six figures?

Or just enough to pay the bills and have extra spending money.

start small, and build upon your goals every time you reach success.

me, I started out wanting to make enough just to pay the bills and maybe have extra spending money left over, but my mindset has drastically changed over the years, I am getting a little greedy at this point.

Our goal is not just to have some money to pay our monthly bills. Content Writing 360°'s goal is to increase its overall sales by 30% every quarter of the year.

My goal is to be a film director/producer. I know that in the early stages of that career path, you are basically making peanuts or even nothing.

So I want to have the freedom of pursuing that while be able to fall back on internet income.

I'd say a consistent 5-10k a month will do fine for now.

My goal is to crawl everyday. I am reading books and even though I am not finishing them as fast as I would like I am finishing them. I am now reading "tested advertising 4th edition". What helps me is when I see this everyday Countdown to New Year 2013 in Dallas
I keep an open window on my laptop it gives me a sense of urgency. I also have some other things I look at motivational wise that i substitute for a boost. One of those things is looking at quote below.

"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome."-Arthur Ashe

"Sometimes I don't want to go to bed at night because i'm not into dreaming, I want to stay up to make it become a reality." -Eric Thomas

"Dream with your eyes open" when i am reading I am "living" the dream to the best of my ability at that very moment.-theory expert translation

If you died the next second could you honestly say to yourself, "I gave myself my personal best that second before i died". -theory expert

"one of the top 5 regrets of the dying
    1. I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself..."

You'll need more than that to reach the stars Jamie :p:

The publicized price for flights brokered by Space Adventures to the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft have been US$20–35 million, during the period 2001–2009. Some space tourists have signed contracts with third parties to conduct certain research activities while in orbit.

Stars live at 3.2 mil and higher.

        Or is it 9.2?

Why a million? A million ain't like it used to be, it's got less buying power. Darn inflation. If you started in 2000, you have to wish for something like 1.3 million today to reach the same stars.

These days, you have to be making a heck of a lot to be financially free. At least $6,000 to $7,000 per month minimum for a family of four to live comfortably and be debt free.

If I could reach that amount from online + offline work, I would be more ecstatic than anybody on here could imagine haha. I've only been working for less than a decade but I haven't earned even close to that in a month yet.

I completely agree with this. The only reason why I'm motivated and interested to work as hard as possible at something (a job) or to make as much money as I can... is so that I can travel, see the world, go to live professional sports games and concerts.. haha off topic but anyways, I like this point completely!

I make over 100k a year and that's just fine for me.

      Also, automation,

I don't want to make 1 million a year if i have to spend 18 hours a day 7 days a week in the office. I would rather make 100k a year and spend only 1 or 2 days a week in the office.

Most of the people that i meet and those people that come to my workshops just want to make 3 - 5K a month.. or the same amount of money that they are currently making in their day job.

I don't have a figure. Money isn't what drives me at all.

Whilst I am treating this as a business.. if I can't living within my means on £1,500.. then having £10,000 a month won't make a difference. I look around my house, and there are many things that I just DON'T need. The past two months, I have literally been struggling, struggling to find items that I want to buy.. I really don't think I need that much at all. I just enjoy the entire process of achieving goals and improving lives at the same time.

I have a part time job at an animal hospital making $7.67 per hour working only 3 days per week. I obviously cannot live off of that. Because there are no other jobs, I created my own job. Using Fiverr and doing other offline jobs I have been able to pay my bills. I have discovered a deep down hidden talent. I now want to take this talent and build on it enough to be able to leave my crummy day job of picking up dog do-do. I have invested some money into a few used books and waiting for them to come in the mail. I plan to learn the material and build up. I also have my own website that I created and it makes me an extra few hundred per month.

I find the thrill and excitement of Internet marketing to be one of the biggest drawcards to this kind of work; making money is a useful extra as I already have quite a nice "day job".

That being said, as long as my IM efforts make enough to pay for the occasional holiday, new computer, or cover the bills when I'm short a bit, then I'm happy.

Thankfully, I've already reached that stage!

My goal is to make 20k a month.

I think a lot of people would find $20,000 dollars a month pretty insane, but I could potentially make that much with less than 20 customers a month. I feel like it is totally do-able.

I'm really excited to make it happen, the breakthrough for me is around the corner

The reasoning I WANT the money is more important than the number though. I want the number because I want to be totally 100% free for the rest of my life, completely. Ability to go anywhere, do anything, buy anything I want for whoever I want.

    That's the life man.

And the internet moreso than ANY other model... is the vehicle to get there!

This is an interesting thread. Sadly almost all the replies above show what I have studied and know to be true, and that is that hardly anyone has really thought of this important question and just pull massive figures out of the sky hoping that it will be enough to give them the life that they want. I've actually studied this question in depth and interviewed hundreds of people over the last 7 years. As a stock market instructor I would always ask this question when starting so I could put together and appropriate plan to help people achieve their aims.

My (free) book (sig) targets this exact question and provides a formula to calculate exactly how much you need to lead a fantastic life and let me tell you - it's much less than you think. If anyone's interested in knowing the answer but doesn't want to join a list PM me and I'll send you a free copy. 100% of people who have read it say they found the answer they were looking for.

Why is this helpful? It's helpful because once you know how much you want you can put together an appropriate plan to make it happen. A plan to make $1,000,000 a month is going to be different than the plan to make $1,000 a month and different to the plan needed to make $10,000 a month. By knowing the exact answer to this question you will make it much easier. Just hoping (wishing) for "millions and billions" will not get you anywhere fast.
