Google translate on ecommerce pages

Is google auto translate on ecommerce worth it? A company is trying to sell me this option for a site of mine.. it sounds good but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

If someone search for blue widget in Spanish, a Spanish version of my website will pop up..

Just curious if anyone has done this and what the results were?

I think where the functionality comes into play is during the search results. If a German term is used in the search a German version of the page will populate.

It might or might not work in terms of SEO, but it's definitely not worth paying for such a thing, there are some WP plugins out there that do the job for you, all you have to do is setup which languages to use and you are good to go.
Search for "google translate" in the plugins area.

their is an easier method, depending on what your trying to do, have a look at Areas We Cover | Table you can see the static pages in different languages. Now type in Birmingham airport taxis from a dutch proxie and see which page is number one, even thu it has no right to be their.
