Rate My Squeeze Page Please

Ok, so I have been getting crushed with paid traffic so far. No signups at all from SiteScout(seeing 1% CTR), and no signups from Bing Ads so far. Super frustrating...but I want to make it better. Right now my site definitely needs some work, and I am already working on the content, but my latest squeeze page isnt performing at all. Any pointers to give a young marketer improve conversions from 0%?

signup.thetrendpulse.com

My goal is to build a list, and monetize them on the way in through the post-signup offers. Once I have my list I will mail them.

Disclaimer: Please don't sign up out of pity, all I am looking for is any tips or tricks you have. (not trying to get traffic by posting about it!) I am using a landing page service that lets me create landing pages within 15 minutes. It's pretty convenient, so go easy on me if the coding behind the scenes doesn't look too good.

I think your squeeze page looks pretty good. However, these types of offers may do better with social traffic opposed ppc or search traffic. I am no guru, but you may want to try sites like pinterest or certain facebook groups that focus on your particular niche/offer. The key is Targeting. Also, try demographics targeting by checking out sites like quantcast and alexa. Facebook ppc may also work for this type of offer as well. Just my 2 cents.

And oh yeah, try to find something to give away; ie, free report as an incentive to join your mailing list.

Not too bad. Just depends what you're going for. Only one way to find out if it's any good. Test it!

Oh yea, one other thing, I would try to be more specific with your offer. It's a little vague.

    WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?!?

Something funny about your landing page - I would not want to optin there.

There's really nothing compelling about that page - begging someone to opt in.

Maybe give some examples of coupons and savings?

An endorsement or two (with pictures) from happy subscribers?

Am I missing something here? I don't see any "begging" going on there. Are you looking for coupons? That's why the offer doesn't compel you to sign up.

      To OP.
Your page looks professional and inviting. Even if you sent a handful of targeted traffic to the page, you would at least get a couple to opt in.

AS someone else has already stated. Social media traffic may be the best approach here.

Your squeeze page looks good but,
If I'm in searching mode, by principle I never enter my email address more than one time in the same site.
It looks to me like if they are playing with my time and my personal info, so I quit from the page and jump to next result.
This is only my opinion, but maybe are a lot of visitors out there with the same thought.

  • Eventhough i am not an expert or guru in this field i agree with all the replies above. Also you say to people that if they sign up they will get email from you everyday? That's something I personaly wouldn't like. You may want to try a different approach on that.

Thanks for the feedback all, I truly appreciate it. I've tried Facebook traffic through SiteScout without much luck. It really sucks even more since they don't label the sources with anything except 'apps.facebook.com' or 'facebook.com' and I'm stuck trying to test out a boatload of sources.

The other funny thing is I found a couple very nice non-social sources which are converting at about 1% like I said above and at a .32 CPM. But no optins. I guess my next step is possibly offering a free coupon right after signing up? I could probably use a CPA offer to a coupon/sample for this since I don't want to be updating the coupon everyday or deal with coupons expiring before I get a chance to look at it.

I'm hoping Bing pans out a little better, but keep the tips coming, I want to start mailing already!

You could try omitting the name to split test. Unless you really need the name, otherwise it's just one more barrier to opt-in, and besides, people like putting fake names anyway.

Honestly, I've had a lot of success investing into quality solo ads related to whichever niche you choose. If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to give it a shot.

The best way to find out is to test and tweak, then rinse and repeat until you're satisfied. You may want to try pointing out the problem better (economy sucks, can't even afford groceries, clothes, etc.) and then offer your solution by simply entering your name & email. At least get an emotional reaction from them.

You could also add an opt-out box that offers a "free report" or something if they sign up too.

I do a lot of offline marketing, so you could approach your local grocery stores, restaurants, and thrift stores (Ross, Marshall's, etc.) and ask to partner up by having printed brochures at their location and work out a deal.

You squeeze page is good but you can make it way better

You post images above the fold and create big buttons to call to action

Color is kinda dull, Try to create a bright squeeze page always with red buttons

    Thanks

You'd have a better time posting this on the copywriting section of the forum (with more responses).

    The Copywriting Forum

One thing that struck me was that it was hard to find the opt in form. You want it to be where your eye naturally will be attracted to.

Your opt in form blends in.

Why am I at your site?

and Why do I want to give you my email address?

I have no idea if this offer is in my area, or what types of stores are in these deals.

I'm just going to close the tab or hit the back button. I don't need any more spam.

Rather than target all types of coupon you could drill down into a specific niche eg. groceries, electronics, entertainment.

Also let the viewers know who you are, and why they should trust you over the rest of the people who are giving away coupon codes.

Not bad at all it is good and simple but it would be much better if you added a video describing your offer.

This is a boring website. The picture with the lady and daughter should be the biggest thing on there, and the 80% should take up almost 1/3 of the top. This is just from my experience. Take a look at some squeeze pages from some CPA networks as examples.

Lackluster design. You need something more slick than this. It's more 2005 style than 2012.

Oouch that's a little too harsh to bite. I am by no means a guru however here is my 2 cents; i think the picture of the daughter and mom could sit on the left hand side where you've got the bullets and lists; and the bullet and the info list could be pushed down underneath the picture of mom and daughter. Try to see if tweaking that lander will give you any conversions!!!

    Hi trendier,

Yeah you need to know and find where the traffic is at that will compliment your offer.

When using paid traffic you will have a few failures first before finding that sweet spot.

Just look at what successful marketers are doing that are in the same niche as your's and get some ideas from them.

You will be amazed at how many answers you'll find by just scoping around.

Don't give up and you will find the answers you are looking for my friend!

All the best and good luck!!!

It looks nice and professional, but there's a "hook" missing to get me into the whole thing.

Try adding a video or some "action" colors to distinguish the benefits I'm getting from opting-in.

You're shooting yourself in the foot by your visitors having to search for your optin form.

The main website has a different looking form on every page. I will be updating the look of that form soon, but this page is just a test for a landing page.

Looks like Bing is getting me some users already, about 11 new signups in a day. It's a start!
