Too Much "PUFF" and not enough "STUFF"

Man on Man, [rant]

Everywhere you turn there
are "Puff" clouds and promises
smoke screens and mirrors...

that have absolutely ZERO
"STUFF" or substance
to back them up.

And whats more....there are a lot
of Self claimed "Experts" who know
absolutely JACK CHIT about anything.

I can't remember if it was Paul Meyers or
John Taylor who had a relevant post about this
but there is a lot to say about Experience vs years
of Experience.

Furthermore, I love when these Big Headed Experts who
have less than 2 or 3 years experience at anything
come off as snub and egotistical and the all mighty
super hero of the Business World as it pertains to
Internet Marketing or any type of business.

It is very easy to take an article and spin it as your
own and claim your the best....

I am not claiming to be an expert with Internet Marketing
but I HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS for quite a long time and
it is irritating as HELL to see people come off as
"GURU'S" and then mislead people, take their money...

This is why Businesses get a bad name and this is why
a lot of people who are running a business have to fight up
hill battles in order to gain the trust and respect of their
peers.

In my offline real estate business when I was contracting
the jokers who were working out of their trucks, buying the clearance
items at lowes and building cheap houses that were not
worth the boxes that the materials came in.....took peoples
hard earned money, never followed up after the sale and
created an environment of uncertainty with the consumer
in which the rest of us reputable builders had to battle.

This is true with any business.

Put up or Shut Up!
and always remember

Someone always know more than you do
And that you never stop learning.

Don't act like king CHIT if you haven't even
gotten your diaper off.

Sean

I'm not diagreeing, but I also think some people are so into this stuff that they forget just how many total newbies there are out there. I'm with you 100% when it comes to promising the sky and delivering a footstool, but there's nothing at all wrong with selling footstools to those on the ground. Just gotta package yourself as that kind of seller, not a "guru."

Bro - I couldn't agree with you more. Truth is that you got these kids with 3 years experience calling themselves experts just because they got lucky. That doesn't make you an expert nor does it make you really smart.

I used to be an LO myself and to listen to borrowers brag that their home doubled in value - they would talk to you as if they were Donald Trump himself.

Even with these "IM Gurus" I get their ebook or newsletter and it's filled with every clickbank product out there.

On top of that they send me their weak ass newsletter every other day with an affiliate ID. I only follow a few select IM guys and that's it. I've only bought a handful of WSO's that were worth it.

Truth is that the same material is just being re-written and packaged as new.

      We learn through our mistakes
      We learn through life experience.
We gain wisdom from failure and
      success.

WE ALL TAKE BUMPS ON THE HEAD

Every day we learn more than we
      knew yesterday.

The key is to know when to
      speak and when to listen.
      And realize that perhaps
we are not always as smart as
      we think we are.

Your points are well made...but look at it this way:

It's incredibly easy to rise above the pack with all the crap out there.

I think you could frame this whole post more positively by saying something along the lines of:

          1. Genuinely care about the clients you're selling to and the results they get.

          2. Sweat blood over creating products and services that will help them.

          3. Always remember you're dealing with living, loving, breathing fellow human beings and they deserve the very best you can give them.

          4. Be scrupulously honest and persuade people to try your products and services using real facts not puffery.

          5. Back up the quality of your products with a long 100% money back guarantee.

          Kindest regards,

That would be an expensive frame ....and well worth the money!!!!!!!!

I was obviously heated when I wrote this.....and your frame encapsulates the core thought.

however, we still need a frame for the shadow box expert.
