Press release question - help!

What do you write for the address of your company when you don't have a physical address - it's simply an online company?

What do you put for that? Asking others with online companies what they do?

You can go to virtual address service to rent an address or P.O.Box

    There are some choices:
    - USA2me
    - MYUS
    - UPS Store
    - Regus
    - Virtual Post Mail

    Hope it's help...

    Cheers,

No press agency would ever syndicate a press release which has a fake address.

But my guess is you are not actually talking about a real press release, you are talking about a news post, formatted like a press release, and submitted to an online site right?

In this case, they are unlikely to check the postal address.

Thanks for your replies. Making one up is out of the question as I want to be a legit business. I've decided to purchase a PO box - thanks to everyone who replied.

Yes, it's online press releases, but still you're more credible if your information is valid - and I hope to at least bring my aspergers site some real life publicity.

Mac - How would you go about a non -online website press release? You've got me interested.

It's pretty simple really, you just send them the PR! They will either pick it up for syndication, or trash it, and most won't tell you which they did!

Don't listen to the people telling you that you don't need an address. If you send a PR to a press agency without full and valid contact details for the press contact, they will just toss it in the garbage can, they have thousands they have to go through each day, and they simply discard any that are not formatted correctly, or do not have valid press contact details.

Do you know how to format a PR for offline syndication? Hang on, I wrote a blog post about this a while back, let me grab the link.

Yep, here you go: The Anatomy of a Press Release

      Hope it helps.

Press releases don't always need an address. It depends on what you are promoting. I used to create tons of treleases for a (famous) band, to post on music related sites. No address was needed. If you go through a PR agency, however, the agency usually has an address that gets posted.

You don't need one. Simple as that. It's an online business and people know that.

I was just wondering as a press release service I wanted to use asked for an address on the application form - stating it was needed.

MissMystery I've used a PO box for years and my post office recently told me PO box holders can now use the street address of the post office holding your box. You just add #yourPOnumber to the address. So evidently you can now have a street address along with your PO box. I use it for my auto responder as they also require an address.

I have mind with UPS. All you need to do just use their physical address and use your P.O.Box as Suite number. Hope that help.
