What is the ONE critical strategy behind the most successful product launches, that Jeff Walker says on some of his websites, as a 'copy' sentence ?

Edit- by copy sentence, I mean the on this page

I'm not sure what a "copy" sentence is. You can't have a launch in a way most people think of them without getting traffic, and traffic typically comes from affilaites.

So if it's just one sentence: The most critical thing besides a converting sales letter and a product is getting affiliates on board.

      Cheers though.

Matt, is your product that you broke the cb gravity record on, still selling daily?

how many sales are you getting a day?, nowdays, after the launch ?

It's still selling. It really wasn't a "launch", it was more about getting paid to learn... as in I've never done a WSO so I teamed up with Jason Parker to learn how to do them... but just wait. I've got some big WSO plans in the future :-)

BTW... I used the same strategy on CB, as in release a product to learn how it works, then do a BIG launch... so really "that product" you are referring to was about my first CB launch...

          Entry,

Your question is a bit confusing. As others mentioned what's a "'copy' sentence"???

Yes, headlines are extremely important. Good copywriting is critical to any offer.

I have Jeff's PLF program and it's EXCELLENT. I'd say the ONE critical strategy is "integration" -- that is, integrating different media (e-mail, video, audio, even snail mail, etc.), stories, traffic sources (including affiliates), etc. is the "secret."

In other words, there is no "one" strategy. Integrating all of the different parts into a smooth, efficient process leading to the launch offer is the "secret."

Any product launch or offer has a lot of moving parts to it. And as Dan Kennedy says, the most dangerous number in business is 1; ONE method for getting customers, ONE advertising medium (e-mail, etc.), ONE offer; ONE ad, etc.

Entrepreneurs and wanna-be entrepreneurs are forever in search of the one "secret" of success, getting new customers, etc.

As Dan Kennedy and others have said "I don't know of one "secret" method for getting all the customers you want. But I DO know 153 ways [or whatever number] for getting ONE customer."

          It's a key mindset shift.

I recently purchased Dan Kennedy's Lead Generation Machine (being launched now) where he teaches integrating offline marketing with online marketing.

Too many people want to stick with just online marketing, feeling that offline marketing (direct mail for instance) is too expensive. What they don't realize is that their marketing would become much more effective and efficient by integrating offline with online marketing.

Even a simple snail mail postcard driving prospective customers to your squeeze page would be enormously valuable.

This probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps.

How is he marketing that launch? I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the sales are from his own list and affilaites. But, I'll get the real scoop next week when I'm with him in Cleveland.

There's a lot I can't see behind the scenes so I can only tell you what I see.

Yes, it IS going out to his own house list and through affiliates. I'm on his house list and I've gotten e-mails from SEVERAL different people about the launch (his affiliates), including the guy who heads up our local GKIC chapter. (At the moment, I'm all Dan Kennedy-ed out. )

I know it was also briefly mentioned in last month's No B.S. newsletter. "Brief" being the key word. It was just a teaser.

I know Jeff Walker helped tweak the offer and one of his Product Launch Managers is running it:

My own mentor says the only way to fail is to quit. And Dan Kennedy says that nothing's a failure, it was only a test. Take the feedback from the test and move forward.

I like that! Looking at things as a test instead of pass or fail is a perfect fit in direct marketing.

If you are talking about something like partnering/JVing on a product with someone. I typically don't. Unless, there is something of value in it for me besides money.

As in, to me the best way to learn is by doing. I don't sit around and talk about it. I find someone that has been where I want to go and ask them to take me there. So, I was asked by Jason to do the WSO, I never did one so I said, I'll be glad to do it because I want to learn how to do one. I made money on that WSO right... so I got paid to learn.

Basically, after I do something: I ask myself what did I learn from it. And document it for myself, then I ask myself, what went right, what went wrong and how can I fix it... then write that down so I have it documented for the future and next time I do it again.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to that. Because, I go first as in mail for others...many times alot then hit them up later to mail for me. So basically, I've found the key to getting affilaites is going first.

I've only paid 2 marketers to help me... most people it's a value for value exchange.. as in, in one way or another I have something the want or I've given so much value upfront they want to help me for free. It's about aligning visions or helping them get closer to their goals...

As you said you contact marketers who have 'done' it and leverage this for your marketing.

Do you let marketers do this to you, and contact you, via phone/skype for help?

Basically, after I do something: I ask myself what did I learn from it. And document it for myself, then I ask myself, what went right, what went wrong and how can I fix it... then write that down so I have it documented for the future and next time I do it again.

My best answer: One day. (TBD)
Some people are better than any WSO if you just follow a few of their post.

Affiliates are responsible for over 90% of most successful marketers sales. Getting as many successful affiliates on board, sizzling copy, building momentum for the launch and creating a incredible product is key.

Yeah, affiliates are crucial at that scale. When promotions die out from affiliates, sales tank.

      True...

Unless, you keep the momentum by finding other traffic sources to keep it alive. Such as integrating it on the backend of other peoples products, put it in other people autoresponder sequences, buy traffic to it, do swaps with people, etc. Done right, the purpose of the launch is really to give you alot of traffic to split test the hell out of your offer so you can continuously make money from it.

Matt just gave a great lesson on having the right mentality when it comes to internet marketing... whether it's starting an affiliate campaign or getting ready to launch a product you should be thinking that you're about to get paid to learn. Sure you're going to fail, but if you keep at it you're guaranteed to eventually have a good ROI and you'll essentially be making money and learning at the same time. (actually failure is not an option)

    Thanks Matt

Think about this... How is anything a failure if you learn something... and how can you fail if you don't quit but adjust... personally, that's how I think...

Yeah affiliates are probably the number one thing that bring in traffic (and money).

But the number one thing you must absolutely take in consideration is the quality and value you bring to the marketplace. There's nothing worse than 1000 sales with 30-50% refund rates.

Firstly, work on your product/service value and think about your customers, not your "launch". Only afterwards you can consider all the moving parts of the equation. Even Jeff keeps pounding on this every time he does a launch for PLF, you can't have a quality launch without a quality product.

Surely this is just my 2 cents, but I hope it helps.

    Regards,
    Dan

Build that hype up. Do pre-sell videos weeks before its launch. Notify your email subscribers about your new product that's about to launch. Follow an approach such as Stompernet.

  • Affiliate support, of course. In order to launch a product, you gotta have an audience to launch to, right? Well, affiliates send you that audience.

It helps a lot of you have your own email list that you can sell to, that way you build a bit of momentum and then once people see that it`s making sales affiliates will then jump on board and promote it as well

Another thing which is important is the commission and epc

No serious affiliate 99% of the time is going to promote a product with a crap epc

The commission percentage is slightly different but if you don`t offer 100% then you are limiting the amount of affiliates which you attract

Of course good copy and a good headline are important but there are really about a dozen important things which you need to use, but they all work in combination with each other so it`s difficult just to name a few

The real advantage of a product launch can't be whittled down to one item because by its nature, a product launch is a process.

Step 1 - Make sure your product is well targeted & tested with some early market validation/input and champions
Step 2 - Develop a partner program that will "sell" to partners - the really successful launches have put as much effort (sometimes more) into developing a sales funnel, tools for partners as their own sales site
Step 3 - Great copy and sales funnel...you want to have a landing page that converts to sales funnel (the pre-launch sequence as it is often called) and then a sales page that converts
Step 4 - User engagement - the social proof that comes with users being engaged during the pre-launch is one that many people miss out on, but successfully creates the hunger and overcomes objections at an emotional level leading to buyer frenzy when the doors are open
Step 5 - Have a great offer with some urgency and scarcity

Take any one of these out and you have a less successful launch.

    Most critical part?

I'd have to say the offer.
