(Sometimes) Failure of IM against any logic

A few days ago i made a german site selling netbooks over amazon. (Usually i dont serve germany since market there just SUCKS).

Someone on another forum told me that there is good money to make with certain netbooks where there is HIGH demand right now.

Low and behold, i did keyword research and the top selling netbooks have indeed a SURPRISINGLY high search volume, so i made very good sounding ads and this site:

(Excuse me that it's in german As to my knowledge this is a KICKA$$ site, and amazon pricing is also LOWEST compared with many online vendors. As i am native german i dont have problems with wording and making the site)

Those particular keywords had pretty high volume and i also had really good CTR in the double digits...only paying $0.07-$0.10 CPC

I got 200-250 clicks/day with a budget of EU20.

I had the campaign running for 4 or 5 days...every day 240ish or so clicks maxing our my budget. Clicks were all like very specific to those netbook models.

In those 4 days...which equal roughly 1200 clicks..i made

ONE SALE of one fr@cking notebook where i made EU15 as well as a harddrive giving me EU3, totalling a proud EU18.

It just amazes me because i tweaked that site quite often, changed colors...and (IMHO) it looks really, really good. 1200 clicks and ONE person ordered something? TOTAL FAILURE..beyond any logic...

    I dunno man. I've been seeing the prices on these micro
    laptops drop practically every week. It could be that people
    aren't that desperate to have them. Your site has no obvious
    reviews so it's just commodity arbitrage as far as I can tell...
    on a commodity with rapid falling prices.

    Edit - I looked a little and you do have reviews... seems to
    me technology sales like this sort of thing are risky to
    mess with because of the falling prices and ease of
    price-shopping for consumers.

    I think you can have more income by putting some reviews on your products. So, that buyers from Germany or anywhere that speaks German language could have an idea what is the usage of a product for them. And you must be aware of their needs.

    well this is an amazon partner site..it actually pulls reviews, the same as on amazon.

    The puzzling thing about it is that amazon does indeed have the lowest prices (most of the time)...thats why i am suprised about the high number of clicks but basically zero sales.
