I have (had) no idea how to create a clickable picture for my website to send people to an affiliate offer. After quite a bit of time googling various questions, I was able to upload the picture to my WP site. I found out how to make the picture clickable and send people through my affiliate link to the offer. I even figured out how to add text, center it and bold it. For my first time I was pretty proud of myself.
The problem is, when I click on the VIEW SITE tab in the admin area and look at the advertisement, the picture is there and the link works. HOWEVER, when I sign out of the admin area and go directly to the site, all I see is a blank 300x250 box with a red x and the ALT text showing.
Can anyone help me correct this problem?

Thanks

I am not sure how to do that but how would that affect only the ad I created and not the other ads showing on my site? I also don't undertand why it would show under the view site tab and not when I go directly to the site by typing in the url.

No, I have saved the changes. In fact I have saved them multiple times. Always the same. Image shows when looking at site through the VIEW SITE tab and only a red x and the Alt text shows when I type in the url.
The link to the offer works when the picture is there and when it doesn't show.

Unbelievable...now, not only do I still have a box with the red x and no picture, All of my "Text" widgets have disappeared from my widget page. I have two sidebar ads and one footer ad and they all show up on the site when I look at it but when I go to the widget page, all three widgets are missing. I just don't understand.

I didn't change anything. I haven't touched the site at all since yesterday. I got into work this morning and decided I would try again. I saw that I still had the ad with just a red x and no picture. I then signed into wp, went to widgets, opened the text box and saw that the html code was still there. Hit save and went to view site. The picture was there.
I then signed pout of the adminarea and put my site url in the browser. No picture. I signed back into the admin area and no text boxes show anywhere in the widget area. I went to view site and no ads showed at all. I signed out and pulled up my site and all the ads were there (with, of course, one blank one with a red x).

I have two problems with that: 1) I corrected that and put the full URL from my media library in the code to replace the baseball.jpg when I was working on it yesterday morning and 2) since the text widget has disappeared, I don't have the code to replace it with. I didn't write it down and I will have to look it all up again and re-create it.
There must be something wrong with my wordpress installation if you are seeing the code I know I replaced. Any suggestions.
    And thanks for your help
