Squeeze Page Q. - Brand, or Solution

Hi all,

Just a quick clarification on something please: when creating a new squeeze page should I be aiming to provide a solution to a problem only, or can I start to introduce a brand (say a branded newsletter which is the free giveaway for providing the email address, and the top headline/header showing the brand also)?

The more I look at squeeze pages it seems that there's not so much branding, and more of providing a solution to a problem with very little brand introduction at all. (I do understand it shouldn't be a sales page though.)

Am I right, wrong, or way of the mark...?

Squeeze page is designed to capture a prospect's email details. Brand recognition will come after you have over 50,000 customers and people talking about your product all over the web and affiliates promoting it also.

Huh... Branding doesn't equal certain amount of customers. Unless, I'm thinking about it wrong. To me branding is a mark or impression in someones mind.

Doesn't seem like it good do any harm if your planning on drip feeding your brand in there from the beginning (if I understand what you're doing correctly). There are plenty of squeeze pages that introduce you to the name of the product you'll be getting (usually a freeware type version) that will then have upgrades or upsells.

As long as your method is congruent right from the point of when they first see your banner / link etc.

A new squeeze page is for collecting leads, and it can help build a brand slowly, so the new squeeze page should provide a solution for a problem.

  Appreciate the input guys. My take-away from the responses is to mainly avoid the heavy branding up front and generally drip feed it in if/when required.
