Flippa and time zones, can someone answer this simple question for me please....

Hi,

This is a really simple question.

Basically i live in the UK, so if i list an auction at 5pm my time, will it appear in America 5pm their time, or will it appear whatever time that may be in that country at the time. eg at 10pm....

I have a feeling its the latter....

i hope this makes sense.

Basically I want to listen my auction so it finishes at 5pm in the US.

Really looking forward for someone to answer this for me

    I think its a 'real time' listing. So your latter

    May also be worth bearing in mind there are many time zones in the US, think about which 5pm will work best for you

      I wouldn't really worry too much about planning an ending time, as Flippa will automatically extend the auction 4 hours after every bid once you start getting close to the auction end.

    ^^This. You won't able to control your end time. What I used to do was make sure my initial end time was sometime mid-day. Then any last minutes bid will extend it into the evening.

    What you don't want is an end time to be at say 10 pm. Last minute bids would send your auction into the night, and that can obviously hurt your final price.

    That said, I think all this only really matters at the lower price ranges. For higher priced sites, it's
    really all about finding that one buyer.
