Can someone explain in easy basic plain terms what's the difference between the two and how a blogger decide which one is better for his blog?
I don't know what to choose and I struggle in seeing the positive and negative sides of my options.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS - RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web-based, desktop-based, or mobile-device-based. The user subscribes to a feed by entering into the reader the feed's URI or by clicking a feed icon in a web browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new work, downloads any updates that it finds, and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds. RSS allows users to avoid manually inspecting all of the websites they are interested in, and instead subscribe to websites such that all new content is pushed onto their browsers when it becomes available.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_marketing - Email marketing is directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. It usually involves using email to send ads, request business, or solicit sales or donations, and is meant to build loyalty, trust, or brand awareness. Email marketing can be done to either cold lists or current customer database. Broadly, the term is usually used to refer to:

-Sending email messages with the purpose of enhancing the relationship of a merchant with its current or previous customers, to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business,

-Sending email messages with the purpose of acquiring new customers or convincing current customers to purchase something immediately,

-Adding advertisements to email messages sent by other companies to their customers

In my experience, email is better...by far.

    You can blast non-published content...ads...whatever.

Your email list is the greatest asset you'll ever have. The end...

Not knocking RSS, but it's no where near as important as email
