The traffic looks, but there is no way to tell you how well it will work for you until you try! Just do it whether you think it's a bad idea or not. If it doesn't work then try something else. It's trial and error until you get it right.

The best way to find out is to try. As long as you don't take a financial risk, what have you got to lose?

I have a different view about ads. I think it's best to use them from start, to get people used to the ads. Just be clean about it.

"Blog will be ad free, affiliate link free, sale's free first 9 months to build major good-will."

I'd rethink that strategy a bit. If you do that, that means all of the visitors you have are now trained to expect only free content from you. You may indeed have lots of traffic, but the traffic may be comprised of only people looking for free content.

I would suggest you have something for sale, starting now. Even if you only make a small report, video, whatever, do start selling something. You can do that alongside the good-will plan you have and it will not bother the good-will.

You don't want to train your entire visitor base for over a half year to think that everything you do will be free, and then hit them with a 'buy now' option. Start selling now!

Good will is overrated, people expect to pay in some way for the content otherwise they wonder why they arent. Its social validation. Having ads on the site will make visitors aware that its a professional business.
