Hey good people,

Simple question for you, and what your take on it is...

Do you feel that the industry is starting to become flooded with much of the same and to many people doing the same thing?

Ciao!

Peace & Tranquility!

It definitely seems like it, but as usual when something becomes crowded it cause people to think outside the box so that they stand out. A lot of great things have come of over crowding.

    In a word

    NO

The internet is just another medium for people to sell stuff.... do you think offline marketing is overcrowded?.. and by that I mean all types of marketing... clothes, shoes, TV's, Cars, Jets, Houses, Food, Music.. I couldn't possibly list enough to really stress my point here so I'll stop, but you get the point?.

EVERYTHING is being sold each and every day.. online and offline... the internet is JUST another medium for people to sell stuff..

It is only becoming over crowded if you refuse to think out side the box or if you allow your own mind to over complicate it.

There is so much room for internet marketers to take things to new levels.

Opportunity is everywhere. We will laugh at our methods years from now.

Everyone is still trying to get it right.

The best news is there are only a handful of people who get noticed while the rest blend in to the background

As long as you have a specific niche that not many people are promoting and you have a hungry crowd for that niche, you can always make money online.

    Hi Kevin!

mmmmmmmm you are saying it in a way that opens up tons of viewpoints and interpretations...

    crowded... where are you standing?

there are a lot of people trying to get into internet marketing as a niche, are you talking about that crowd?

Wouldn't say it is crowded... but there is some confusion around, the system is evolving and it is becoming more professional. But not enough to be able to put apart one thing from another easily yet.

About the other niches... there is always a new virgin island to spend some time playing in the beach... before others find out and come too. Been there, done that... do it all the time.

richdirtygirl...great post by the way, and yes I concur that their are virgin islands which are unknown...YET! Also, I am speaking of the crowd who looks to join the internet marketing "niche"(oxymoron to say the least) and flood it with copycat tactics...Since you've put it in the manner you did. I will say this thread opens a lot of viewpoints. Love it!

The internet is so big it will never become overcrowded.

Plus many leave the business as new people join and i never have a problem finding new customers and if there are enough customers it does bother me how many others are doing it.

Just remember just because lots are doing it doesnt mean everyone is being successful!

Absolutely not. The lower internet marketing levels like MMO and a few obvious niches may seem a little crowded, but 99% of the people who reach that level don't take the next step or push the boundaries, think outside the box, and reach for the real money.

Even if they did, the internet is a very big pond, and plenty of room for fish.

As I see it, there are STILL a lot of people who haven't ventured onto the internet to "buy" things yet.

Seems I am forever talking to people and when they mention that they need this or that and they can't find it or it's too expensive, etc, I say "look for it online" and it's a new idea to them.

I try to do my part for all of us "internet marketers" by suggesting this as often as I can. The more people who learn to "shop" online, the better for all of us.

a big problem is that way to many people only try fishing in the "make money online" niche. To them, that IS IM. If they can't think beyond that, then they deserve to struggle. Survival of the fittest

I'm going to go out on a limb here. Is it so much that they "can't think beyond" the make money niche, or that the make money niche is the most profitable?

I had an online business beginning back in 1997 earning a full time income for four years and it WAS in the make money niche.

When I came back online last year, I figured the make money niche was saturated and that my previous success back in the day was a result of my being a "pioneer," and basically being the in the right place at the right time.

However, I spent 9 months working at it more than full time, in niches other than "make money," and I made no money to speak of. It wasn't until I "fell" into something in the make money niche that I began to "make money."

Maybe it's the recession, maybe it's just the fact that everyone wants the dream of working for themselves, or maybe it's just the fact that I'm not good at "selling" but I'm good at teaching people how to do the things I know how to do. I don't know.

But, my point is, there ARE other reasons for people to get into the "make money" niche besides not being able to think of anything else.

I didn't say everyone - just that I felt it applied to too many people. We see it here every day - someone posting that they aren't making any money, yet their sig files alludes to them making $500 a day..

LOL... That's an awesome post Steven. I think you may have
actually scared a few of them away.

    Cool. More for us! :-)

Anyway, Kevin, I really don't think there can be any form of saturation, much less OVERsaturation in a place that gets thousands of new people on a weekly basis.

It may seem that way to you because you're hanging around places where internet marketers congregate, but even then, that's only a tiny percentage of the population.

So don't get scared, whatever you promote will still sell if you know where to look for your target market.

Even in the "shovels" (aka IM) niche opportunity abounds.

Sure, there are zillions of people selling "Shovel 2000" but there are a few working on "Shovel 2010", and when they've made a success of that, they'll work on "Shovel 2012.

In other words, this gold rush is still in its infancy.

    Cheers,

No it's not overcrowded. Sure some niches are super competitive but there's gazillions of micro niches. Add to this I read a report recently that stated that 1.6 BILLION (yes billion) more people will have internet access over the next 5 years as places like South America, Asia and Africa offer regular internet access!

No. As the number of people interested in doing IM grows, so does the pool of potential buyers.

You'll have to understand that there's over a billion internet users from around the World. And, with today's economy, there are a lot of people starting their own business, in turn going to the internet to learn smarter ways to earn money.

Is it over crowded? No, I don't think so. The internet is has room for many more people than it currently holds.

If I were you, I'd find ways to take advantage of this ever-changing, ever-expanding market. This is a good thing.

    YES AND NO.

Is it like the old days? NO... and the big gurus from those days all had their exit strategies in place and are, for the most part, GONE.

But, the more creative amongst us will create new markets. That's the joy of entrepreneurialism.
