Hey guys. On YouTube, there seem to be a lot of comments like this these days:
@pvfputs yep i agree. i couldnt believe it when my friend told me about this site. Listen, really lucky that i registered and earning more than $40 daily from this web site . you can also get it from here -> bit.ly/T8Yoxp?=oealgy
Comments selling products online (usually affiliate). Have any of you guys made any money promoting products in YouTube comments? It seems like an interesting way to promote your products if it works, but I doubt many people actually click.

Are you referring to those irrelevant comments on some YT videos? I mean, even if the video is about Subject X, there's a comment that's about Subject Y.

  • Spamming youtube comments with affiliate links is a serious waste of time.

    • I'd have to agree with this especially if it has absolutely no relation to the video

    • Couldn't it also get you banned from Adsense and such?

  • I hate those comments and they will never work. Actually people will dislike you more if you do that. The needs to be real honest genuine comments instead of garbage.
  • yeah thats true..but now a days theirs a lot of spammers in youtube now
  • i was wondering what those types of comments were
  • Chris ...use a CPA network that accept incentive offers... most of them don't ban you for spaming youtube...and if you have a "smart" tool you can comment on targeted videos
  • Links aren't even clickable in comments are they? So the visitor number will likely be poor unless you have a large amount of comments.

Spam never works. Ever. Remember that.

    • I notice those sort of comments left my others on some of my own videos.

I highy doubt those comments make any sales for them, but I leave them on there as the social interaction helps with SEO!
    • You'd probably find that the very existance of spam would suggest to the contrary.

Those people who spam aren't just doing it for the first time to test the water. They have done it before, they have proffitted from it and they are doing it again...

    • It does work. But, it's short term, dirty and creates a negative user experience. So, it is highly NOT recommended.

And, with Google Webspam Team's effort to eliminate them, spamming will eventually turn its back on you. The more you do it, the more you are planning to fail.

  • It definitely works...but I wouldn't want anything to do with it.

...and I'm sure other legit ethical marketers wouldn't deal with it either
  • I don't think all those comments are spam. If the comment and the link is related to the youtube video then people can actually gain something from it.
  • Have you checked the statistics of those bitly links? They have such a low amount of clicks that it is not even worth wasting your time on such tactics.
  • And the poster didn't come back to replying the comments:rolleyes:
  • I read YouTube comments for the funny stuff people post. I don't click on spammy looking ads; I doubt any sane person would too!

  • I think there are those who actually click them, especially those who are online for purely leisure or just killing time and watching amusing YouTube or trending videos. And that's what these guys are targeting at.
  • Those have time to pass online instead of earning online, like those guys comment on YouTube..
  • yeah if the comment is related to the video and the link is related to video then it is not really spam as it is something that can solve a problem.

No. It doesn't work. There is an argument here, and your friend is a prick for doing that. Also, seeing how your sig file has to do with I wouldn't be surprised if it's a guide to spamming on Youtube. No? How coincidental.

PS. You contradict yourself when you say that (1) "sure conversion rates are low", but then go on and say that (2) "it's highly targeted traffic once they get to your site, so it's good conversion rates." Dafuq you talkin' bout?

So, it doesn't work? Like I said already? I hear you dude, so you're preaching to the choir.

Really? That's your rationale? "Show me something that will work forever?" Quite the deflection.

Well, by defintion, spam is any unwanted/unsolicited message. So even if it's helpful, it is spam. Not saying I necessarily disagree with you, but we gotta call a spade a spade.
    • you said it! but how accurate are these comment software devices for targeting specific videos?

  • spam will only hurt yourself
