Monetizing a video for a phone app

2 replies
HI;

I made a video review for an android application. I put it on YouTube 5 days ago and it's already had over 3,200 views. I put an affiliate link to the app in the amazon store, but it's has barely had any clicks.

I have a feeling that most people purchase android apps from the Google Play store, but from what I can tell there is no affiliate program for the Play store?

Can you think of any other way that I might be able to monetize this content?

Thanks,

Jamie

    Do you have a good call to action on your video? Maybe offer your viewers something for free for downloading your app or even get them on a list, then pitch them multiple app products.

    That's a good number of hits to not receive any conversions in my opinion.

      It's not my app, it's just an app that I purchased, I liked it and did a review of it, so I was looking for some kind of affiliate type of program for or some other method of monetizing it. I was guessing that the low CTR on the link was due to it being in the Amazon app store vs Google play and that may or may not be correct.

      Yes, I could possibly pitch other apps too, but don't know what kind of setup to use to make a commission on those either.

      I don't have a really strong CTA, but said something to the effect if you appreciate the effort I put into this review, please use my link below (My amazon aff link to the app) to purchase your copy of app xyz.

      Thanks,

      Jamie
