Has anyone hired an outsourcer through Craiglist in Manila?

I am considering hiring outsourcers thorough Craiglist in Manila (possibly VA). I am not sure exactly on how to do it / what to look for/ how much to offer.

If anyone has any experience with that - I would love to hear about it.

It's difficult to trust someone from craigslist, unless you are able to meet them in person or have a face-to-face conversation with them on skype.

Well before you think of hiring someone or a company, you should at least figure out first what you really need? Do you need someone to just design a website for you, do the seo, manage your ppc, manage your social media account, or all of the above?

If you want 1 who can do all of the above, expect to pay a lot. Those who can do all these, are probably already owning a company or doing freelancing charging clients outrageous amount of money - which is normal.

You can pay or hire someone from craigslist for 15,000 pesos per month which is $400 USD. However, don't expect to get an expert for this amount. You will have to micromanage them and waste your time talking to them and training them, and if they'll leave for some reason, you'll have to do it all over again. Not very productive on your side I should say.

You can pay someone 30,000 - 40,000 pesos, or about $1,000 USD to do online marketing for you. But beware of those claiming they're an expert. Always ask for the work they've previously done. Do a thorough interview on how he did it and what he's done. Ask what he can do to help you and what goals he can achieve. Again, there's still no assurance how long this person will work for you (they could just disappear) and all your effort is put to waste.

I hope this enlightened you at least..

I am looking for someone who can post messages on Facebook - add friends, post messages, manage groups Nothing too sophisticated. As a start I want to pay on a hourly basis.

If you have any recommendation for companies / people please PM me.

What other options do I have except of Criaglist ?

How many hours do you expect it would take to finish all that work. You see,
I would avoid paying outsourcers on an hourly basis. That's because it's likely that they'll charge you extra and not do the work. Since you're giving them a simple task, it would be better if you pay them a fixed amount, given that they do X amount of work in a reasonable amount of time (you have to set how many hours). That way you're sure that outsourcer is getting some work done.

I have faced many time wasters on Craigslist. Most of them run away and don't do the work.

Thanks for all the replies. Can anyone tell me how you get your outsourcers. I understand that Craiglist may be a bad idea, but can you tell me about your experience with other mediums to get outsourcers.

I use oDesk for a lot of my outsourcing needs. This helps because I can see the ratings of the people I am thinking of hiring.

When you are outsourcing, here are a few tips:

    1. First, give them a simple, non-critical task that you know how long it should take.
    2. Hire 2-3 people to work on these tasks
    3. Monitor them for the first few days
    4. Fire the ones who are not working out
    5. Continue with the best one
    6. Always have new people in the pipeline as sometimes even your good people become unresponsive

PM me if you want some additional help with outsourcing.

Not sure about Craigslist but Outsource Factor has had a lot of experience hiring VAs from the Philippines. Well, not only VAs but a lot of other people with different skill sets..You'll probably have better luck with an online freelancer sites like OutsourceFactor, oDesk, Freelancer and etc.

Head on over to our site. You're just in luck we have tips on how you would go about outsourcing people (especially VAs). I think you'll find a lot of helpful information there too..

    See you around..

You could probably check out onlinejobs.ph or use virtual stuff finder (google it). I think they are much more reliable IMO.

    Hope this help,

I use odesk too. You can get a sample of their work and check them out prior to hiring. I have hired people from overseas on there and you are less likely to be scammed. Good luck.

Craigslist is one of the freelance sites you can see where freelancers who are working from home are offering their services. An offshore staff leasing/outsourcing company is still the best choice if you want to do outsourcing.

The main advantage that you will gain for signing up for our services rather than a freelancer’s is that we could provide you a lot of guarantees. First, there is no question with the legality of the company and our services. Second, there is transparency regarding the money transactions between you and the company. Third, we assign supervisors and team leaders to manage and monitor the staff’s task and productivity free of charge. Fourth, since we have shifting schedule for 24 hours, you can choose your desired time when your staff will work. And lastly, we require our staff to work for only one client so we can guarantee that they can maximize their productivity and focus fully on the task you give them so you’ll get your money’s worth.
