A bit more information would be beneficial.

what do you mean by hits? ie, page views, all visits or unique visits?

where is your traffic coming from? Organic, Paid, Email lists.. etc..
you say you are advertising, who are you advertising with?

what type of product are you selling.. CB, Amazon, your own product, etc.

who are you trying to target with your product?

Do you have a landing page, sales funnel, and do you Ask for the sale?

are you keeping track of the traffic that you do get? what software are you using to analyze your traffic?

I know that sharing your exact model is a trade secret, but with such a lack of information it will be hard for anyone to give advice.

Make sure you have tracking enabled and see where your traffic is coming from. What are the bounce rates? It doesn't matter if you are getting 1 million hits per day, if you aren't getting targeted traffic, you won't make any sales.

    You either

    1) have terrible non-converting traffic

    2) don't have that traffic

    3) don't have adsense/your offers set up right

    4) ?????

Where did you advertise? Did you test a small section of the niche to see if they would respond positively to a squeeze page? My guess is that your traffic wasn't targeted.

From those 2000 hits if you would of had a opt in box pop up with a free gift of value you would have a list of 500 or more subscribers that you could keep communication with. Deliver value and recommend a product here and there and you will build trust with your viewers. If the 2,000 hits is targeted traffic then the problem of why your not seeing sales is that the sales page copy is not convincing and they just don't trust you. Try building a list and tweaking your sales copy. If its a affiliate offer change the offer and put a blog as the first page they reach with a pop up opt in box.

You don't start making money just like that, there's got to be some rapport with your visitors, and they may still be checking you out, continue posting and review six months down the line. I would focus on listbuiling than sales, and whatever you do, please be tracking if you may. It's a tricky business, there is a lot that goes into it!

    Get them into a list!

Don't expect people to arrive and buy; it doesn't usually happen. Your first goal is to get as many of those people onto your list.

When you have done that, come back here and make another post saying '2K people on my list and still no sales' and then we can talk about the next part of the process

It could be lots of things. Are you connecting with your audience? Are you targeting the right keywords (keywords that reflect they are in buying mode - i.e. review)? Do the products you promote actually reflect what the person is looking for? Are people actually looking for the products you're promoting? In other words, are your competitors making money selling the things you are? It might also be your layout and how you have stuff organized on your site.
