Is there an easy way to track if a facebook ad made sales?

The only way I know of right now is to make a special sales page that only the facebook ad links to.

thanks in advance.

You could add Google analytics to the sales page. That would tell you the source of the traffic. Google analytics is a free to use program.

if you're spending any money on advertising, you need to set up a conversion tracking tool. Google Analytics is free and a decent start, but complicated and missing a lot of features important for affiliate marketers.

Just put "conversion tracking" into Google, or the forum search.

Google Analytics can track sales and conversions, it's just that most people don't know how to set it up. Google uses the confusing term "Goal" to refer to sales tracking.

Set up a Goal in Analytics that tracks whenever the "Thank You" page is displayed after a sale. You'll then be able to see exactly that websites your sales are referred from.

I use Easy Tracker Pro it has a 14 day free trial, and it easily lets you add a tracking pixel to your optin page and your sales page to track you optins and sales. then you just create you tracing links

so lets say you are advertising at several places, you can easily make a tracking link...example

    "YourSite.com/trackinglink/facebook"
    "YourSite.com/trackinglink/soload"
    "YourSite.com/trackinglink/ezinead"

then when ppl click on your various links Easy Traker Pro will follow the optins and sales for each link accordingly.

      I would recommend Prosper202 as well (self-hosted).

Stop whatever you are doing and get some kind of tracking software going IMMEDIATELY.

It is by far one of the most important things I started to do online.

No tracking is the equivalent of exploring a cold, dark cave with no flashlight.

Tracking is the equivalent of exploring that same cave with night vision goggles, gps, map, compass, and an AK-47 just in case. lol

Agree 100% and I do like your analogy.

Thank you everyone. Problem is I use Payloadz, and the thank you page isn't hosted by me. I think they only send out a thank you email. I think they offer the option to make my own thank you page, though and link to it, so I could do that and use google analytics for now, and then try one of these others. Prosper 202 sounds good.

You can use Improvely or any other tracker recommended here. You add the conversion code to the download page from your Payloadz account. Here's the instructions:

I am so glad I started using google analytics. It does everything you need it to and for free. I can track facebook ads to see if they result in sales, and google ads, and youtube ads, etc. I can track as many ads as I wish using goals. You can even use goal events to track if someone clicks on a link.

This next part take a bit of learning, but you can even use it to show your ads to people that viewed a certain product, but didn't buy. Say they looked at your sales page for your $97 Make MOney system, and didn't buy. Google analytics has the option to send ads to only those people that looked for more than 30 seconds, or whatever time you wish, but didn't buy. You could then advertise your cheaper product to them.

Just great stuff. So powerful and for free.
