Does Your Country's Currency Value Factor Into how successful you Are Online?

I've been talking to friends in places outside the United States and it seems they are raking in money at accelerated levels (on avg). It also seems people in other countries are looking at things Americans have as 'prime purchases' because their dollar is worth quite a bit more than ours....

Therefore what we sell for, might be anywhere from 5% to 20% less in value, when converted to the CAD / AUS / EURO purchaser's checkout.

Is there any angle or way that Americans can look at online sales right now and come out better?

example: We set up our prices in CAD or EUROs to make everyone pay more?

    that isn't going to work. USD is like a universal currency when it comes to IM. I charge in USD even though it isn't the currency I use. Then when I convert to what I need I lose money, but that is just the way it goes.

      Lets ping pong this a bit.

      I know of an affiliate program on Commission Junction from The Netherlands i used to shop with a lot. I know people dedicated to that niche are willing to spend anytime they have exclusives. And they pay the difference.

      Have you tried the other way? or is it more-so you speculate / read others experiences?

    I have never tried any other currency that USD and I wouldn't even consider trying another currency. If you have the time to test it out go ahead, but one think I do know is that If I ever see a price in a different currency than USD I automatically discount it and won't buy. Notice this with UK sites all the time - Personally I will never buy from a site that is in pounds.

      def food for thought on my end.

      I know with the EURO currency however, if you have people REALLY MOTIVATED to buy something.... might as well go EURO.... That's a 30% mark up almost right now..... for every 3 sales you can lose one and come out on top, at a surface view.

    Now I tried the USD GBP EUR NZD AUD I found the US dollar is the world wide, the GBP and EUR is the second, the AU dollar and NZD is the end.

      was it a distant 2nd place ? or was it worth it to go with the EURO / GBP ?
