Hi, im in the process of starting a small business. But i want to look professional.. and not have @gmail.com or @live.com

I know that if i own a domain i can use that to make an email.
But for this business i currently do not own a suitable domain.

I was wondering if anyone new of a website or a way where i can get a free professional email? or a free custom email?

Thanks

Fellow Warrior, you need to invest a domain and host it to a reputable and trusted hosting company/service, regardless if a small, medium, or big business. At first, I also thought of relying on free services but I realized that I should have invested a domain at the onset of my business. It's because in the end, I will still buy a domain. So why not now? Right?

Get a domain and use it as your business email. It's a lot professional than using Gmail, live, etc.

Hosting less than $10; domain less than $15. What's there to think about?

Every business should have a domain name. It costs $10 per year. And then for $6 per month you can get a web hosting / email package as well.

I second the motion. It might 'feel' like you are saving a bit on the front end, you will pay for it on the backend. Even if you don't think that the business will be profitable, the very small investment you make now is significantly less than you would spend starting any offline business. The real factor here is that you must think of this as starting a business.

I take that as you already have a domain then you probably have hosting so likely no additional expense there.

Do by a suitable domain name . Godday will get you a .com for around $8 if you use voucher/discount code (Google it). Never pay full price.

If you have cPanel hosting then instructions to create email is here E-mail Accounts

in fact all tutorials are here (just look under email)

Various options to manage your emails.

As JaRyCu above says manage with Gmail. That keeps it online
Alternatively download Windows Live Mail (Windows Live Essentials) from Windows Essentials: Other Programs this can manage multiple email accounts and stores all your emails on your PC.

Thank you for all your responses... You guys have actually changed my mind. I shouldnt be trying to save a few bucks, because this is my business. And i should do what i can for it to succeed

P.s, For those interested, While i was searching the net, there actually is a site that lets you choose over 200 domains and make a custom email upon availability for free.
Get free Email accounts: Web based and secure Email - mail.com

Although same thing, if the person checks out the website to see your site, theyll find something completely different and think something fishy is going on!

    Cheers
