Which SEO plug in is best to use for your wordpress website? Can you use multiple SEO plug ins on one site?

Thanks

You don't need multiple plugins. What you need the plugins to do is to set the correct title and meta tags and all the other trivial stuff. Most all SEO plugins do the same stuff, so you are safe with any popular SEO plugin.

I am using the SEO MASTER plug in. It's working fine but it changes my page heading for some reason. How do I have separate page heading and page title using this plug in?

If you want to know the current version of wordpress just go to their site to find out the current version.

Actually the latest version of WordPress will tell you if it is out of date.

The All In One SEO Plugin will do the job, multiple plugins aren't necessary. Like any SEO plugin it requires you to enter meta tags data, which you can do for every page.

You will also want to adjust WordPresses permalink setting to make your links SEO-friendly. A common method is to use %postname% as the permalnk tag, however be aware that some themes have a problem with this.

Truthfully, I like plug-ins because they are fun to play with--I like using my ftp program(Transmit) to upload them... I don't know why.

But, you don't really need any plug-ins at all. I've learned a lot over the past year about SEO... one thing that I'm certain about is that you don't need an SEO plug-in to outrank other sites.

There's just more to SEO than that plug-in.

Plug-ins are like diamond rings. They look good--but their not necessary. But, if you want a nice diamond ring--check out the All-in-one SEO plug-in.

I'm not an SEO expert at all--but I know that I'm right. Don't expect that plug-in to be your SEO solution.

Platinum SEO is great. And you can use multiple seo plugins, but why? Would only recommend if one plugin will take up the slack where another lacks.

permalinks + all-in-one SEO will do.
Remember every extra plugin slows down wordpress and ultimately hurts your ranking - google doesn't like slow websites.

I'd be interested in your findings. I currently use All in one SEO which seems to do the job quite nicely, but if Headspace2 offers more I'm willing to give it a go. Please let us know what you find out.

Headspace does what most "SEO" plugins do and a lot more besides. One caveat is that because there is a lot more to it, some folks will be confused by it. If lots of options and lots of goodies tend to make you not use something, then try one of the simpler plugins already mentioned above.

Did you ever notice that “author” is the root of the word “authority“?

I use All-In-One SEO on my websites which seems to work fine. Meta Tags are basically ignored anymore but the headings do matter and All-In-One SEO does the job with the headings and using first few sentences of the post as the description.
