Joomla Subdomains Question...Really need help
Hello,
I have few questions about Joomla 1.0 I never used it but right now i did make one site with Joomla It worked fine but now QUESTION IS
Let us say My site is www.mysite.com and i have already installed Joomla in the root directory but i want to create another site without buying another domain name so i thought of going for www.mysite.com/others
1.When i tried to install Joomla on www.mysite.com/others It doesn't let me install and then i spoke to Host Gator and they told me that i can't install Joomla in the folders in this case "Others" of my site www.mysite.com/others
2. They said that i need to create subdomains and then i will be able to install Joomla in different subdirectories
So i created a subdomain "Others" MY UNDERSTANDING WAS IF I AM CREATING SUBDOMAIN THAT MEANS IT WILL BE others.mysite.com
but hostgator said NO it will work both ways that means if somebody types "others.mysite.com" or mysite.com/others (IT WILL WORK)
I don't want my site to display for others.mysite.com i want it to work for only mysite.com/others
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
3. Since i installed Joomla in others/mysite.com so now it is not working. It is giving me error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function shshowcachestats() in my directory name/modules/mod_shCustomTags.php on line 398
Can anybody help me?
