Wordpress - Get rid of the dates

I am busy working on creating a small affiliate website where I will promote some physical products.

I am using wordpress and a free theme that I found.

I was thinking of removing the date function which will make the site appear to be more of a static site rather than a wordpress blog.

Is this recommended, and if yes - how do I get rid of the date function?

    Edit the template. Index.php remove
    Code:
    @ <?php the_time() ?>
    Signature

I have used a Date Exclusion pulg-in. Was pretty easy. Just search for it in google and it comes up. Its free btw. If your site is just for one affiliate product and static then this is a good idea.

You may also want to remove it from the single.php file as well or it will still show up on single post pages.

Haven't checked out the plugin, since I remove the date/time from alot of my blogs, will have to look for it.

If what you're doing is not time sensitive, I don't see any drawback in removing it. Like I said, I do that on several sites and it's never been a problem.

      Thank you,

I am going to remove the date as I feel it will be better and not make the site seem out of date.

      Thank you for your help

    Oscar D:

Another idea is to use a theme designed to make the Wordpress blog look and function like a website, with static pages and structure. These CMS themes are usually not free, but they are good looking. You have to look real hard, and do a right click view source with the mouse button to confirm that you are looking at Wordpress.

I use Wordpress CMS themes on a number of websites, and they are easy to maintain and add content. And they DON'T look like blogs...

    Just an idea.
