Hello Warriors!,

I am just dipping my toes into IM at the moment but I have some ideas for reports/ebooks I would like to write and market.

Can anyone recommend a resource or site or even just advise me on the best place to find how to format and present a book with graphics, fonts etc.

Cheers for your help.

Just write your book in Word and then convert it to PDF.

Agree with Will unless you are looking to sell them on an ebook platform such as Kindle in which case you will need to get your MS Word version specifically formatted for Kindle.

Don't over-complicate your format, PDF or specific ebook reader format is all you need.

You may want to think about a back-end -- I like to work reports or ebooks into a back-end offering that could include a video training series or additional material that may be text or multimedia.

I use Open Office. It's a free alternative to Microsoft Word and after the ebook is written, just go to File > save as pdf and voila ... you've got a pdf ebook.

Using Microsoft Word or Open Office works whether you are doing something simple or advanced. Make sure to test your book out before you publish it though.

I agree that you should write it in MS Word. As there are many converters available nowadays, you'll be able to convert your .doc file to any format easily, whether it is pdf, epub, fb2 etc.

Use MSWord, but go to office.com and download one of their pre-formatted templates for Word. This will make your document look very professional. Then you can save it as a PDF for distribution.

  • People dont care about graphics, they want good quality content. Keep it simple.

You can download the cute pdf writer for free.

Like the other person said, write it in word and save it as a pdf.

You don't need to have a super fancy graphics for your e-book. A simple PDF version will do. This has been our pattern for several years and it has worked well for us.
