Do you like this header?

Simple question, and if yes or no - why?
#header

Personally, I'd go with something quieter

If I ever design a new cover, graphic, or header, I used to spend hours fiddling with some complex design, only to realise that simple never fails and is almost always best.

I now go with simple first every time and lose those wasted hours on OTT stuff.

It's a bit difficult to say without seeing how it looks on your site. However, I'd agree with Alex's comment - it's a bit loud for me!

It's a virulent green that makes many people want to throw up. It is over bright and should really be hanging outside a knocking shop to make it difficult to recognise the punters going in and coming out. Another problem you have is that shadows that go both ways with no apparent light source are very uncomfortable to observe - even with only one eye.

Apart from that, I don't like it.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

I can't say that I like it much. For many of the reasons Art gave. But whether it's a good header or not would depend on the type of site it's intended for. I'm probably going to show my age here by using incorrect slang . I guess it could be a good header if it's to be used on some kind of punk site or some site with a funky purpose. With a black background and green text or something. (I don't visit these sites myself. The subject doesn't appeal to me and I can't read them anyway! ) Maybe you should ask someone around 12 years old if they like it - you'll probably get a more relavent opinion.

I'd have to agree with Andy1750, it's a bit hard to say without seeing how it fits in with your website, and what content is on it. I like the concept of how you present "FUNonemom"...very clever If the main premise is "time for fun" then I picture a header that would be more reflective of fun...a little more "whimsical" with colors that "play" together. This one seems too "dark-sided" (unless that what's kind of fun it's about:p).

It is supose to be dark fun. Maybe for someone who would have a gaming site server site type -.... maybe...

Nope, don't like it one bit. If I saw a website with header like that, I would click away in a heartbeat.

Sorry, brutal honesty. Good luck though on the next version.

well...the coloring in the second just doesn't do anything for me...comes up a strange khacki-pea green on my computer...and the combo with the red makes me think of a sickly christmas. i liked the gradient-style on the first time4fun...just needed to maybe be a little lighter.

Have a little play and yor get it for sure, with out a doubt the second is better but you can still improve it.

PS TBH with you I didn't know you were try to get phenominum with the thrase funominum....

what about a blue line behind...or a blue line with the green time4fun from the first graphic...or a yellow-orange gradient time4fun. the time4fun just seems too drab/bland in one color. also...input from my young "gamers"--the guy with the yo-yo looks more like he's bored than having fun.

        Interesting....

I got a niece (4 years old) as I see it she always plays dress up games on gamesgecko and boy she is click happy when it comes to games - she doesn't even see the sponsored links - she just clicks on the "related content" and spins around the same website like crazy.

Well, This is a nice improvement and shows that you are able to change things quite well.

Without a web site to see, this would probably be acceptable but maybe the Rubics cube could be bigger and better defined and you are still having problems with shadows.

    hi there
on its own, the header doesn't do much for me, it may be the color gradient.
For the gradient you are using, try this:
instead of black long the top, use green, it will show the 3d and give more definition to the blockiness of it. right now it just looks messy, define the top edges and you will see a significant change!
