cloaked domains and clickbank hops

I recently came across a bunch of domains.

I want to cloak the domain uniform resource locator and "mask" it via a "mask redirect" (please only comment if you've used this function and tracked clickbank affiliate hops)

Will clickbank still track hops and sales this way? If the address is redirected and masked?

I hear conflicting reports.

The clickbank delay makes it difficult to test "real time".

If anyone knows for sure, I will thank you for your experience.

Cordially

PS: For some reason I'm being prevented from saying which host i'm using.

Please note that the URL forwarding and masking I'm using, rhymes with "NoFatty"

Thanks

Yes, indeed: there are conflicting reports.

And not only in this forum: you can actually discuss this subject with two different members of ClickBank's staff and hear two slightly different views, too. So if anyone offers you "certainty", you might want to take that with a pinch of salt.

The relevant item to read on ClickBank's website is on this page: Affiliate Dos and Don’ts and reads "Don’t mask or store your HopLink in a frame. For your HopLinks to be properly tracked, they must not be stored in a frame. If your domain is masked, your HopLink will be stored in this manner, and therefore will be unreliable."

This is talking about hiding the link in an iframe. Of course thats a bad idea.

Why can't he redirect, providing it doesn't say you cannot in the TOS? He isn't masking where the link is located, hes trying to mask that the link is an affiliate link I believe is what he is saying. Two totally different things.

If you understand the tracking system being used, then you can with a certainty know if it will work or not. Most systems track with the pixel/cookie method. If Click bank uses this, it will definitely track. A redirect cannot have any possible effect on this since the cookie is still placed and the person will still load the pixel upon completion of the offer.

I have used bit.ly before to mask a clickbank link and it has definitely worked and converted for me.

I currently use Viralurl to cloak CB links and have had no issues.
