Facebook Virus passed via link to a video

I got a message today from someone who is one of my Facebook friends. Honestly, I don't know a lot of my new friends, LOL, I invite everyone via dm on twitter to be my friend - and don't use FB for real personal reasons as I'm a firm believer that nothing on the internet is really private.

Anyway, I got a message that was spelled out kind of spammish about someone having video of me, and there was a link - so I clicked it.

It went to some teen porn site.

Now, I actually do have some old college friends - one of which is an elaborate writer and reviewer of classic porn - but this was not his style at all. The link was your cheezy teen porn site.

So, I went to look at the profile of the guy who the message came from, and he was a very Christian man from the looks of it - and a marketer.

I decided to send him a friendly hello, and questioned if he had really sent the link or if possibly facebook had been hacked.

I was sent back a message,"It was a Virus from (users name here), a link to a video via FaceBook."

Apparently this virus sent me the message from someone in my friends circle and there was a video link to boot.

So now I have to wonder - how does this thing travel? Will my facebook friends be getting this same crap? My concern is that I do video and they might get the impression I am some how mixed up in sending them crap I didn't send.

Anyway, if you are my friend and it looks like I sent you porn, I did not.

And if you get something on your FB that looks like this, don't be too quick to judge where it came from.
