Hey Warriors

I was just on a Sales Page that I tried to leave, and it took me exactly 10 times before I could leave the website.

I don't have a problem being redirected to a back up offer once or maybe twice but marketers are getting ridiculous with 5 and 6 different back up offers offers.

So now, not only do I not want to buy your product, but now I'm pissed and will never buy anything from you.

I guess people do it because it works. Do any of you do this?

...If so - do you find it profitable?

  • Exit pop ups work, that's a fact but over doing it as you have highlighted is a turn off.

When done correctly it will bring more sales, especially when you consider that the exiting traffic is doing just that, its exiting and you may never see it again, so always try to hit them at least once with an exit offer.

Exit pop ups work but like you said it's annoying to have more then 1 or 2.

People are using these tactics and No they do not work.

97% of marketers online are failing to make any money at all.

Use exit offers and no more than two offers. 1 is best

I don't read them and they piss me off. When I want to leave, I want to leave. I remember when these things first became popular and I had to reboot my computer to get out of it. I won't buy from a seller who does this. No more than one or you can count me out as a customer.

So many people use those things, that I can only assume they're converting. I've never used them myself. They annoy the heck out of me... But I guess maybe I should try it.

The only thing that exit popups are successful at, is ticking me off!

If I want to leave, I want to leave now. I don't like you coming off as desperate for my sale or as viewing me as a reader who has no intention of returning.

When searching for something I want to purchase, I do my research and check out more than one offer. I will bookmark the sites I want to revisit, the ones that I believe are worth a second look at, the one's that just very well may be the one I actually purchase from.

However, after I have bookmarked your site and go to leave either with intentions of returning later for a potential purchase or because I have to leave the computer for whatever reason, if I get a popup when leaving, you can rest assured that I will delete that bookmark and cross you off of my list.

I want to be dazzled or intrigued with your site/offer, not annoyed by it.

      But hey, that's just me.

    Exactly.

I am thinking along these lines as well. One or two at the most -- but 5,6,7 is way out of order.

I use one, i'm not sure how successful it is, but I wouldn't use more then one or two that would bug me if I was looking at someones offer or page.

Treating exit visitors like they are never coming back is a big mistake.

They won't come back, if I make it hard to leave. In fact, people may need to visit my website more than once- to check out a new offer or get my phone number, so exit popups (or autoplay videos for that matter) can become frustrating...

      Agreed.

Sure, they might be (or ARE) effective...and sure, it might be "money left on the table" if you don't use them, but they flat-out drive me nuts. They can come and go from my site as often as they want - I'm not going anywhere
