Identify your market and your interest. If you start promoting something you don't know nothing about you will not be able to stick around. Let's say you want to promote Forex trading robot but the subject bores you to death and you don't want to write articles about it - you won't sell anything. Find a niche that interests you.

Secondly, find what your interest is within that niche. How much do you know about it? What would you personally buy for yourself? Find several products you think you would buy if you were a customer. Buy them through your link and compare or ask for a review copy. When you ask for a review copy be prepared to show your sites, blogs, and traffic stats or your adwords stats to demonstrate you are a serious affiliate. If you are a begginner and don't have much to show for, buy the products. After reviewing them pick the one you like best, or three products you like best and you can make an affiliate review page.

Things to look for - demand, price, commission, gravity (don't go for high gravity product if you are just starting out), purchasing power, are customers freebie seekers or are willing to pay for this type of product, does the pitch page have leaks and how serious are they (do they have Adsense on pitch page? do they have their own affiliate links? do they have alternative payment processor or pay-by-mail or order-by-phone) etc.

          hi I am a newbie,
after going round in circles and getting very confused. I decided to concentrate on affiliate products. I have just bought the affiliate blueprint. It looks good, and heard a few good posts on warrior recommending it.
Has anyone else used or heard of this.
          thanks

      Activetrader,

Why did you say, (don't go for high gravity product if you are just starting out)?

Anyone else have any comment on why this may not be good to do?

      Thanks!

I agree here 100%. also I use the 30/100 rule..meaning a gravity of at least 100, and commission of at least $30 or real close. If you formulate that into a spreadsheet you will more than likely retain profit with any affiliate product. Use CB engine and check the top 10 results.

Search popular individual sites on the internet which are selling affiliate products. find what are the products they're selling, next sell them by your self.

Pepperjamnetwork is looking pretty good. I like their "store widget"...easy to create your own stores with affiliate products.
Another one simular to pepperjam is I-Supply .com, they will have a simular "store widget" set-up with some big name vendors....but I believe they are only in beta now...launching in april sometime.

    just some more options...

Try Clickbank products with gravity between 30-100.

They usually convert well and there's little competition between affiliates. You still need to test though.

With gravity > 100 there's cut throat competition and you usually need to offer a good bonus to the customer for buying from your link....

Seems that most people here choose a product based on clickbank gravity. The higher it is, the more is the no. of affiliates promoting it. Is this the best way? Maybe.

But personally, choosing the product first could limit the money to be made in the long term, this is because it's harder to find the right audience to match it with.

But if you could find a hungry audience who is ready to pay with their credit card, to solve a problem they are facing, you will see money pouring into your bank account.

Most people faces at least one of the 3 major problems in their lifetime and they are Love, Money & Health.

Somehow, as long as you are alive, you will want to get a boyfriend or girlfriend, then get married and have kids. During the process, some people don't know how to get a date and for those in a relationship, they may have just broken up with their boyfriend/girlfriend and want to get them back.

When they are getting married, they are willing to spend any amount of money to get the best for their wedding day. Many couples have problems during marriage, some in the process of getting divorce and one of the spouse is desperately looking for advices to win back their spouse's heart....

Do you think it's now easier to find products that can help these "desperate people" to solve their problems and know what words to use to persuade them to buy the product?

Hope this will give you a better idea when you next start a campaign.

PS: This is the exact steps I take to make more than $1000 in just 1 day.
