What Do You Think You REALLY Need?

Hi Everyone,

I know the question can seem vague, but I see thread after thread chock full of information and yet I also see thread after thread of people talking about how they're not "making it" yet...

So, even if it seems like a very general question, "Just what is it you think you really need to get to the point where you're starting to make money that's acceptable to you?"

Maybe you need help focusing. Maybe you need the definitive source about PPC. Maybe you need a blueprint. Maybe you need to be coached. But, whatever it is... can you just come out and say it as cleanly and clearly as possible?

What do you think you really NEED to help you make that big-ass breakthrough you've been yearning for?

    Hi Eric,

    Easy.

    Less laziness!

Even though I do IM full time and am my own boss, I know I can always do more.

You know, there's a bit of a paradox there. I want to be less lazy, but I always know there is "more". I think truly lazy people don't even care that there's more - they are complacent in their own comfort zones and happy to stay there.

Anyway, my answer is still "less laziness".

    All the best,
    Michael

Hi folks, I'd have replied sooner but I had to help someone for most of the day until now... replies below:

Ok, so you think you really need something like an article writing course and then effective article submission software?

Have you ever thought of either having your content written by ghostwriters, or joining a plr article site and then using a service like Free Article Spinning and Unique Article Submitter - Jetsubmitter (which includes the service found at http://www.jetspinner.com)? If you choose ghostwriters, it'll be more costly but the articles should be very fresh and unique for your keywords which, if then spun can yield 100-200 unique versions.... submitted with your backlinks could be very effective very quickly.

But, to learn to write better would, comparitively speaking, take up so much more time. So, may I suggest that while you are working on being a better, more effective writer, that you go to ScriptLance.com Custom Freelance Programming. Outsource web projects to programmers and designers. or Elance | Connect with Qualified Professionals and get some articles written for you so that you can, at least, get the ball rolling?

      Hi back at ya, Michael,

I completely understand how the mind works the way you describe it. But, please allow me to introduce a new way of seeing "lazy"... laziness is actually a form of "self-preservation." If one, for example, were to ascribe personalities to animals, it could be said that during hibernation season, bears are lazy. After all, they certainly appear to lack ambition when they're sleeping deep inside a hole in the ground for the whole winter.

Because truly complacent would eventually result in death. And I think the word that best describes it's worst manifestation is "sloth"... and it's one of the deadly sins.

So, I'm wondering if maybe you could pause for just a moment and try to see if there's some kind of "excess" somewhere in your life that you could give up... if not permanently then, at least, temporarily, as an experiment to see if it has the effect of reclaiming energy for the aforementioned, "more" that you know about.

      Best to you...

As an experienced entrepreneur, I would interpret that to mean you need more of some combination of the following:
      1. outsourcing;
      2. automation; and/or,
      3. systematizing
You might start by prioritizing, then outsourcing all the small, least important stuff, to a V.A., outsource the very hard stuff to qualified people on scriptlance.com for lightning quick turn-around time, and try to get your routine pinned down to a repeatable system... then you can hire someone to fire the triggers where they're needed while you soak up the sun in the Bahamas.

Yes, Lewis, I do accept Paypal, except for this particular request. For what you are asking, I will have a scantily clad virtual assistant show up at your door every monday morning to collect your payment in cash. For a small, extra, fee, she will stick around for an hour and play some MP3s for you.

If that doesn't motivate you then I will have her perform CPR on you until you are resuscitated. :p

Ok, tell me then where you take great liberties, or go to excess, in other areas of your life. Lack of motivation and "less laziness" are not things, in and of themselves, they are states that result when we are too tight or too lax somewhere else in our life... can you think of any examples of things, even unrelated to IM, that you could stand to give up for a while?

I think you don't need to learn to overcome it any more than a baby bird needs to learn how to fly. You either need someone to push you out of the nest, or you have to crawl to the edge and bravely throw yourself over the side. Because "analysis paralysis" is really just a cute, modern way of describing a "perfectionist" which is a non-cute, technical way of describe someone who is vain.

You can be so worried about not getting some part of it right, or even of succeeding and not knowing how to handle it, that you unconsciously get caught up in the infinitesimally small details that either never matter, or will work themselves out in the process.

So here, let me give you a phrase you need to say to yourself in the mirror, "I give you permission to f*** up!" And then DO...

Victim of information overload- do you think?
Not in your case. Let me tell you something, first, Aritra. I happen to love India and, often, more than people from India do. I love it for the deep pockets of wisdom that can only come from many 1000s of years of experience. And one of the things I learned from your part of the world is that "everything just happens..."

So you have to start by setting a START date. And then you have to bring the whole of your being to bear on STARTING on that date. It doesn't matter whether or not you succeed at the actual business task. By performing the above exercise, you'll get more information as to what arises to block you and how you respond to it.

If you stay in analysis mode, then your obstruction remains sub-conscious. If, however, you take an action, your obstruction begins to manifest. And then you observe and learn from the effort.

I hope this helped. It's some pretty deep stuff and it doesn't translate very well to a marketing forum.

I really wish the best for everyone here... that's why I started this particular thread.
