Can I buy into a mailing list?

Hi guys, I am the owner of an ecommerce site selling homewares, mostly a specific type of pillow that I produce myself.

I was wondering if there are people that sell space on their email newsletters?

Obviously I would be looking for someone with a list within my niche (home decoration) and preferably in Australia.

Ideas?

Yep, they are usually referred to as "solo ads" or "ad swaps"

However, you have no idea what type of people are on these lists.

You don't know if the emails were legit opt-ins, or if they were scraped from somewhere on the web.

You also dont know if they are even targeted for your niche. Picture this:

I tell you "hey, I have a list of 100k people! I can send out a promotion for your site for just $5,000 dollars!"

What I DONT tell you, is these people #1, didnt even opt-in to my list. #2, they arent even related to the product or site you want to promote.

Now, would that be a good purchase or a bad one? The answer is obvious. lol

Best to start building your own list, so you know things are done right (and so you dont need to buy solo ads in the future, lol)

How many sales is your website generating, and does it have a way of capturing the email details of your visitors?

What you have is quite a niche product, so solo advertising via email lists of marketers may actually cost you a lot of money and generate no return.

Get your post count up here and then you add a signature, plenty of the australian marketers here may actually need pillows?
