Do your sales slow down in December & January?

I was just wondering if anyone else sees their sales slow down in the Holiday season, especially in the internet marketing niche?

I have seen this as a general trend over the years, and just want to know if my observation is correct at all.

Sagar

    • Yes - mine go up too. Personal development, goals, quitting smoking etc are all things people tend to think about around Dec/Jan

  • It depends upon the product you are selling. Some people's sales goes up in holidays and some people's goes down.

  • I've had positive reactions from my clients in the holiday seasons so far.
  • As Halloween is near, I make quite a significant amount of money from a post (tips on how to dress-up to Halloween parties) I wrote 1 year ago. I'm reckoning the same will happen for my Christmas and new year posts.

I'm also predicting that IM products/services will be lower in sales during December and January. Well, let's hope not
  • Mine do not go down. And, my Amazon.com affiliate sales EXPLODE until just before Christmas!
  • December and January are usually my biggest months of the year.

    All the best,

  • It all depends on the products and services you are marketing or the clients that you have.

If your products or clients are not geared toward the holidays your sales can slow down. I have worked with several companies that see their sales drop each year during the holidays. It typically starts November 15th and lasts through January 15th. But these are Saas products that have nothing to do with the holidays. One is an education product for teachers. This one see's a major drop-off as teachers and students are out for the holidays and are not in product mode.

Other products make a killing as they are great for holiday specials or gifts for the holidays.
  • Yeah, I was referring to just the make money online niche.

I've seen sales go up in thing related to holidays and the new year (and new year resolutions area good twist to add to any product) but if we talk about purely make money online products, the sales do go down I think.

  • Yes January is most slowest month for most of people and I also see drop in revenue as I used to make $500/week but now things is down for last few days. Hope it will be improved in next few days.
  • Actually the opposite. But I am in health niche. Maybe that's the reason.
