Simple just create the sample site under a directory or sub-domain. A directory would show up as http://yoursite.com/customerssample a sub-domain could be accessed via customersample.yoursite.com in either case they can be created in your cpanel. And in both cases the sample site is put in a subdirectory. It just depends on if you want it to be a subdomain or not.

Here is how to create subdomains:
    Subdomains

    Hope this helps.

This seems very informative. Im Just learning this hole Wordpress site building thing. Their are many businesses within my home town that do not have sites so i was going to play around and make up mock sites for a few of them and email them a link to see what they thought. And would they be interested in paying for their site.

so the first thing i need to do is buy my own domain name and create my own website. Then from their i can add sub domains as samples.

You can either create a subdomain or if its design you are focused on send the page as a pdf.

You don't need subdomains, just install to a different directory of your main site. I would suggest making a new database for each mock site so it is easy to export. One other thing I would do is set the mock sites so they will not be spidered by the search engines. You don't want Google indexing your mock sites that may not be relevant to your main site.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

You can make a portfolio page for that and install your demo site on that page. It will look like http://www.yoursite.com/portfolio/demo-1 for another site http://www.yoursite.com/portfolio/demo-2.
