Building a list won't bring you money, that is for doing e-mail marketing. After building you also need to send a message related to your product and advertise to the potential customers within that list.

Whatever niche you are planning on building a niche in you need to be adding value to your list through your email. You can promote anything you want to them, but if you are just promoting and not providing useful information then you'll have a high unsubscribe rate.

You can still make an income from a list and people earn nicely from their lists, but you have to build a relationship with your subscribers if you want to profit.

    All the best

As people have said, the list is just the communication medium. It's important, but there are lots of other things you need to get right too.

When it comes to building a list you need to look at the bigger picture not just think "how can i make money from my list"

Your email list can be a very profitable asset if you look after it and focus on the long term rather than the short term

Your also best off to focus more on your own products when building your lists rather than push affiliate products because if someone joined your list it`s because they like your stuff

If you build a list and know how to market to your subscribers
effectively, then it is worth building a list.

Just about every successful Internet Marketer I know has a
      list.

      There's a reason for that.

List building works... when you work it.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

From just a small list of 1000 subscribers I have generated as much $6000
but you must first learn how to convert your list.

How you promote your list? Clickbank?
Give the value and promote good offers and you will make a lot of money.

I think you need to have a list, definitely. How did you get the list? From an opt in page? If so, keep promoting what you had in your opt in page but also let them get to know YOU while you are promoting. They are more likely to buy from you or work with you if they get to know you. Make sure they have the option to unsubscribe if they wish. And don't be discouraged when people unsubscribe--it happens. You don't really want those people anyway because obviously they are not interested in what you have to offer. Mail them every 1-2 days to keep YOU fresh in their minds! Good luck!

I think the best way to approach list building is to view your list as your friend. One friend that you email every few days and tell them things that will benefit their life and help them achieve their success. Along the way you want to occasionally mention some tools that they can use to make life easier if they want to achieve their goals. Not done in a pressuring way.

Based on the rapport you'd have developed with them through your regular free high quality content they'll be eager to check out your suggestions and the likelihood that a good portion of them will purchase goes up.

The list is your middle man when it comes to sales. When people come to your website, they may not have the thought about buying your product or service. But if they subscribe to your mailing list. It may take a day, week, month, or a year until they want to use your product or service. The key to a list is to educate and follow up in my perspective.
