INTERNET MARKETING

I now know that duplicate articles will still rank on Google, my question is, will posting the same article but with different keywords push the site you're trying to get up higher in the SERPS or will the site actually get a lower position or will it have no impact on the site?

The more links back the better. Plus, lots of articles are good publicity and could lead to "real" links from people actually interested in your site.

I don't think a site would be delisted for this questionable
practice, the subsequent articles will simply be ignored.
The later articles will be considered as duplicate content.

But I've seen the same article all get listed in Google.

  You post duplicates of your articles, best case is they probably won't do much. Worst case, you get spanked.

Posting it on your OWN site more than once is a problem..

But I think the OP was talking about posting it on different properties more than once..

for example:

Same article on EzineArticles, Squidoo, and HubPages

This is what I do with a lot of my content and it works, it will index on all the properties and from the right places (FOLLOW), the backlinks will count
