VPS + CDN or RTMP Service

I'm working on setting up a network of sites and trying to figure out the best way to go about it.

I like speed and reliability, right now I'm on a shared hosting plan and it sometimes slows down and sometimes doesn't even load....so I'm looking to upgrade to a VPS.

I will have videos and files for download on my site. Can I use just VPS hosting to host these files? Or should I use some sort of CDN to host the files, and just run the sites off the VPS?

Anyone have experience with this? Thank you.

Switch to a better web host that doesn't overload their servers. Then use CloudFlare for caching & something like Amazon S3 to host your content.

Unless your sites are using lots of RAM/CPU, you really don't need a VPS. If you need root access, you will however need at least a VPS.

If you find a quality shared host that values their customers more than just "accounts", you'll be fine.

I think VPS hosting will be a better option for you.
It seems to me you may have one from 4goodhosting.com.
Their servers have 100% uptime and there are many useful resources in their VPSs.
