WHOA! Amazon Affiliate Results

I had a blog about 5 years ago that saw very little traffic. It lived for about a year getting maybe 20 hits a day. Pretty pathetic, right? Well, I had some articles with Amazon Affiliate links sprinkled throughout (mostly books and DVDs).

I never checked my account. I setup bank information (which has since changed) but never put in a tax id. So I never got paid.

Well, I thought I'd log onto my old Amazon account to check things out. I made just over $34 in commission!! That's not a lot but if I made $34 on a blog that lived for about a year, with 20 hits a day, and only 15-20 articles, imagine what would happen if I actually worked at it!!

I'm actually pretty excited!

    Hey Ron,

That's why people love internet marketing but tragedy is they don't believe that they can actually make good income online. They tries few things and forgets about it. That's why the success ratio is very low in IM.

This happened to me also. But in my case I earned through click bank. I made $75 sales from the blog in a year which I am not at all promoting any where. From there I got the inspiration and I think doing good now.

    Thumbs up to you

Good job, I promoted amazing on my construction site. Even though I shut down my construction business to market online, I still have my website up and running thanks to amazon and other ebooks I sell on there. Go amazon.

Not to rain on your parade or anything but seriously guys
$34 in 5 years? how is this success by any means?
Wouldn't you be better off selling some products and making commission off that?
I hope this is not only your living means.

Champion - It's not really a success in terms of pure $$ but considering I did nothing to market or promote the site, it was live for only a year, and got hardly any traffic (and 20 hits was a GOOD day), and promoting only books and DVDs (commission was piddling per item).

Imagine instead of 20 hits a day I had a site getting a few thousand with higher ticket items. Quit my day job and get rich? Maybe not, but a nice addition to ones monetary portfolio of online businesses.

One of the reasons why amazon is good for marketing is because they are a well trust brand. You can have a few pages up and get a few sales here and there. If you go in fully then there is money to be made. I just don't like there small commissions.

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing this. It's a great moment when you realize you can earn a living online and it can be completely passive income. Imagine if you had several hundred of these pages and spent a little time getting the ball rolling on traffic? Use the momentum and get cracking!
