New 'undo' feature will solve HUGE Warrior forum problem

A new option at the Warrior forum will be launched this week.
As one of the beta testers I can give you a run down of what
it provides.

As you may know the biggest problem at the forum over the
years has been good threads ruined by flames, arguments,
accusations. We surveyed a sampling of members and
discovered that 90% of the time this could all have been
avoided quite simply if the authors had not rushed into
print but had sat back and REFLECTED on what they had
written in a RELAXED mood.

One simple solution of course would have been to delay
transmission of the post for a short period but we came up
with something much better.

With the new feature you will have your post put ON HOLD and
the content replayed back to you by an automated voice tool
(with a pleasant sounding voice) accompanied by soothing
meditative sounds.

You have the option to have this start instantly after
posting or with a delayed start, e.g after 15 minutes,
allowing you time to 'cool down'.

Your post won't be submitted until you hear and agree to it
- so you can effectively 'undo' what you wrote. Hence the
name - the Warrior forum UNDO tool.

There will be an official announcement of the option on
Wednesday but you may want to start now. By default it is
set to activate on your account after you have opened this
thread.

By the way not only does it work for posts but also PMs.

So why not try it out now in a simulation of the real event ?

For example, send a PM to someone you really dislike, fill
it with hateful words to get all the aggro out of your
system, then sit back as it is replayed, and your mood
hopefully softens, upon which you calmly click on the "Do
not publish" button.

The vBulletin function has been in beta for a while
and was originally known as the "Do undo posts to
others as you would have them undo replies to
    you
    " mood soother.

Oh, man. I can really use this.

I don't know how many times I put my foot in my mouth, or
wrote a joke that just came out the wrong way.

Some day I'll learn just to keep my freakin' mouth shut.

    edit:

This must be a joke. Maybe I fell for it. Nothing happened nobody is speaking to me. Maybe it doesn't work for 2 days. Maybe I misunderstood we opt-in by default by opening this thread.

I guess this is easier than teaching people they can edit their posts or even delete them? Or is that just true for me because I have some mod functions?

    We will see I guess...

Mmmmm ...this could confuse the Undo feature and cause
it to crash bringing down the whole Warrior database.

Please hold back trying Dragon with this until
      we release a fix.

I am in tears of laughter here at this brilliant thread Harvey.

Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

I probably shouldn't admit to tears cause I am a guy

        OH TISH

How does this UNDO function work again?

Oh, that's great. Now what I wonder is how to set the technical options for the soothing sounds:

    __ Surf crashing

    __ Cute little birdies chirp

__ Waterfall in the rain forest

_X Hotties of the WF discuss how much they love you

Is there an add-on option I can pay for to upload my own soothing sound pack?
Maybe there's an opportunity for a new type of WSO.
