I am looking for a book that hints for article writing and how to use meta tags and code to optimize the articles even more. Any suggestions? I just need one book to get me in the right direction

You don't need a book for that. Search Google or even the Warrior Forum and you can find plenty of information on such topics.

You should build your site with something called "Microsoft Expression Web 4"... i believe this tool was designed to help you rank high in the search engines. Plus it has unbelivable functionality. It's what we're using in college class... it's better than the web tool that i'm using now.

I'm hesitant to post, because fairly long experience has taught me that it can be pretty difficult to help people who think about articles in terms of "tags" and "code". My question is: do you want your article to be "optimized" for readers, or for search engines?

(If you want to pretend that the two can realistically go together to any appreciable extent, just skip over the rest of this post, because it isn't for you).

Good articles that produce traffic, opt-ins and income are SEO'd less, not more.

Article marketing isn't intrinsically about SEO (though it's also true that there can be huge SEO advantages if you get articles syndicated to relevant quality sites in your niche - but to achieve that, the articles themselves need to be of high quality, not optimized for search engines, and they need to be specifically written for syndication).

SEO'd articles produce less income, because few people who have the traffic you need want to publish them.

Google traffic is just one form of traffic - typically poor-quality traffic, and the most precarious kind, too.

The beauty of article marketing is that it's a whole traffic generating method in its own right, which transcends SEO.

But to achieve any of that, you have to stop writing for search engines and start writing for targeted human readers.

Article marketing isn't about how many articles you have: it's about how widely you can get them published in front of the exact traffic you want to attract to your site. (And let's assume that you want to attract something rather better than just SEO traffic, shall we?).

Perhaps you don't need a book? These threads might point you in the right direction if you read them slowly and carefully, following their links, and from the starting perspective that SEO is only an afterthought in article marketing ...

Anchor text links a keyword from your article to one of your links; to your blog, website, hub page, etc.

For example, here is how to do it:

    <a href="your link URL">Name of link/article aka anchor text</a>

Let's suppose that you are trying to sell an ebook about how to make money online and you wrote an article about internet marketing.

You will put the keyword 'money' in the place of the name of the link. Then, you will put your website's link in the place of the URL. You want to send your readers to your website so that they may purchase your ebook.

You will then read your article and find the word 'money' in a sentence. For example:

'If you want to make money online you must learn how to drive traffic to your website or blog.'

Then, you will put the anchor text in the place of the word 'money'. It will look like that:

'If you want to make <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">money</a> online you must learn how to drive traffic to your website or blog.'

However, only you see the code. In your article the keyword 'money' will appear highlighted, and whoever may click on this word will directly find your website.

You can use anchor text in your resource box, and in your article. It depends on each article directory's rules.
